Who on TiBB would you say has the best and broadest taste in music?

My vote would have to go to Shaun; such a vast collection of music, tastes, genres and era's.

I would have to agree with you on that

-usual babble about how everyone is different and lovely-

I like Enid's. Karl's, Iceman's and Nate's too. I don't know too many of yours really... I just force my own on you :p

Stu, Scott & turtle too. :)

but I think I can pretty much agree with everyone with regard to at least one artist.

Everyone is gonna say themselves lol I think my taste is the greatest of all time and get offended when people think it's crap and then look down on their music (offended may be a bit strong)

But anyway, all down to opinion

Nobody has the best taste.

just enjoy what gives you pleasure and ****** what anybody else thinks or whether theyre considered cool or not. My taste is all over the place and Im not interested in impressing anybody. Especially here!

Me, and anyone that doesn't think me is quite silly.

I EASILY have the most broadest taste in Music.

I can go from listening to Basshunter one minute to Iron Maiden the next.
From Pop to Punk, from Noughties to 80s - I have a massively wide taste in music.

Everyone I hang around with just likes Rock or Punk and if they glance at my iPod I'd get a 'Patrick, why the ****** are you listening to Rap?' or 'Patrick, what's up with the Calvin Harris songs?' etc

But I think it's far better to have an immensely wide vagina taste in music really.

definately not Shaun.
Me probably, as mine is popular with everyone I know

That's because you probably spend most of your time in a Leona Lewis fanclub - because no one else likes her.

Compared to everyone else, my music taste is actually really narrow. :( I only really listen to pop and mostly mainstream artists. I need to broaden my taste. http://i.imgur.com/Iu8a5.png

Taste in music is a personal thing, what's good to some could be rubbish to others, who is to say what the best taste in music really is.

On here a fair few people seem to like all types of music so I would say the best taste in music is the one where a vast range of music is liked, not just one or two particular types, there are too many people on here with that wide range of music to pick just one.

I have though noticed Shaun does a fair few music threads and in the top 10s he did in particular,he does cover a wide range of music and knows a lot about all types of music, also his top 100 albums have a vast range of types of music so he likely does lead the way on this topic.

hhmm, obviously your opinion of who has the best taste will be someone who like similar stuff to you so in that respect I would say InOne, Nate, Iceman have great taste in music, in terms of broadness of musical taste probably LJ and Shaun and possibly Scott

As broad as your music is, I'd say mine is broader. I have many genres of music that you lot wouldn't have known existed. ;)

I admire consistency, sincerity and loyalty more than taste. Some round here seem to switch and change who they like depending on whether they think the artist is still cool that day or not. So much insincere posturing and desperation to look like theyre bang on trend with taste. Zzz.

Easy to dismiss the likes of Harry and MM&I but at least they stay true to who they like.

rofl

Liking multiple genres is not some badge of honor. Most of us listen to all those genres. It's nothing special. You might be a hero with the daft wangs you hang around with but your taste is very much ordinary by most standards. And the inclusion of Basshunter alone disqualifies you from a topic like this.

Speaking of the topic ... in defence of ukturtle for a minute to all the people pointing out that taste is a matter of opinion ... isin't that what this topic is? Who in you're opinion has the best taste in music? Dur hur.

Anyway I'll go for Shaun and henessy. MrGarry knew his pop too.

Me, almost all music I'm into is not mainstream... I love Oasis, Kasabian, the Verve, Ian Brown, Stone Roses, The Jam, The Enemy and that's just naming a few... obviously I'd say me though cause it's my opinion.

It looks like In One has a similar taste to me so I'd have to say him.

You know all those acts you mentioned are riddiculously mainstream, right? Pop isin't the only thing that's allowed to be mainstream. It's not as if the likes of Girls Aloud and Madonna have sole rights to being obvious mainstream music for dumb people who aren't as enlightened or hip as fans of The Verve are. We're not talking about Einsturzende Neubauten here. Those are all incredibly popular mainstream acts who just happen to use guitars.

Good shout on Girth.

I meant mainstream as in chart music, and I mean chart music nowadays where most of the artists can't even sing live or write their own lyrics.

ooyeah, The Strokes, Arcade Fire, The Killers, Adele, GaGa, M.I.A., Bat for Lashes, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, PJ Harvey, Nicki Minaj, Coldplay, Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse, Fleet Foxes, Kanye West... they're all SOO old. Not to mention all of the albums I review (which are all 2010/2011 releases)

Yet another predictable "lol u listen to old stuff!!" reply. Go sit with MMAI you tiresome troll.

Previous forum I was on was a bunch of American teenagers saying my music taste was **** cos I like mainstream stuff. :joker:

I don't like my own music taste, I think it's really pop filled and bleh. I do like the odd other genre. I'm a huge fan of Panic! At The Disco, Avenged Sevenfold, Billy Talent & Imogen Heap.
