Very high for C5 at first I think. Doubt as high as C4 obviously. I can see a lot boycotting it. But after the peak I think it'll dwindle.

If Josie can pull in half a million for her show, BB should be atleast looking at 1.5M a night

Viewers love interactive programming, they love to have to phone in for this and that so that's why in part these reality shows and X Factors are big successes.
Clearly many of BB fans will follow it to Channel 5 and for that Channel the ratings will be really good. Far better than what they get for any other programmes.
I think they will be high still, not to Channel 4 levels but in comparison to the last few series maybe not too drastically down.
The public voting will obviously remain a big part of the new era and if they make it that the viewers can decide other things in the series too then the ratings should hold firm.

Most people believed the ratings would be so massively reduced that when Neighbours and Home and Away went to Channel 5,it wouldn't be long before both series were lost to the UK. While the ratings did drop to something like 1.5 million for Neighbours, however near 3 years on both series are still there, large as life on that Channel after being discarded by the BBC and ITV respectively.I expect BB to be on Channel 5 for a good while now that they have got it.
Another series saved by them.

if they change the format to much it could be bad

My prediction is that the launch will present the highest ratings, at 2million. And that's pushing it a bit.

Not at all. I don't think it'll do well rating-wise, but it will seem good to C5.
I'm being negative now so that if I'm wrong I will be happy. If I'm stupidly optimistic I'm open to disappointment if things go bad for the show.

Pretty much everyone I've mentioned it to so far didn't even know it was returning, says it all for me.
Hope it gets high rates though

High for Ch5, dunno if high for BB...
It will either start off pulling loads, and gradually fall like recent years, or the opposite I reckon.

I think it'll be high for Channel 5, not so much for Channel 4 but enough to earn another series. :)

Hopefully:), as long as the show paces itself in the being back stuff and doesn't go too OTT with the hype then it has every chance of winning some hardcore fans who had swtiched off when it was on C4.

I would say 1.5 million or something but thats no disaster, after all, isnt that what it was getting on C4 in the last couple of years they did it.

No, all the ******ing delusional 'typical' viewers in the public who aren't hardcore fans have decided 'i ient guna watch big bruva anymore cus itll be sh*t like without davina init x'.
So for the reason the majority of the public are wankers who lick up Davina's talentless arse - it'll fail.

I think the fact that Cbb and BB are on back to back will really affect the proper series in a bad way.
Dedicating an hour a day for 17 weeks to a tv show takes hardcore fans.
Then again i think the fact its on over the winter period will have a good impact on ratings as people wont be sat out in the beer gardens and instead will be staying in.

I think at the peak of the most viewers will be the MOST 2.5 Million. If you look back at Big Brother's ratings from the past few years
BB8 - 3.9M
BB9 - 3.6M
BB10 - 2.5M
BB11 - 4.3M
I think if those viewers follow the series onto Channel 5 we could possibly get to the 3M Mark if C5 are lucky!

Err ... what gives you this impression? The magic public survey you pulled out of your arsehole?
I doubt John Q Public is going to reflect on all this and say 'Hmm ... I would watch it ... but Davina's not in it is she'.
In fact I think that would be the least of his worries. Especially when it's being aired by a national embarrasment of a channel.

I wish you the best of luck,I am also sure the majority of tibb members will support you if you were.
I still think the ratings will be good, they will be great by Channel 5 standards,if Channel 5 found they were getting regular around an average of 2 million ratings for BB,they would consider that a massive success.

The fact I talk to tons of BB Fans and the majority of them have all said 'It won't be the same without Davina'.
Not many on this forum have said it, which is good - but on my Facebook page which has thousands of fans on it; the general impression from them is that it'll suck balls without Chavina.

I don't think they really represent the casual viewerbase when push comes to shove but yeah ... that's pretty stupid :joker:.

I won't miss Davina in the slightest,it needs a new presenter and she was starting to really annoy with her favourites and also her eviction interviews went right down and became very boring.
I said 3 series ago that it was time for her to step aside now.I'm glad she's gone, she was excellent for most of the series but the last few, no way.

No matter how much this is advertised, I think it'll be down to how different it is from the C4 series, and launch night, that will affect the ratings. Also the HM's. :joker:

It will be fine and besides aint C4 doing worse than C5 recently anyway? I havent heard of one show pulling in 1 million viewers for ages on C4,where as C5 has CSI Vegas,CSI Miami,CSI New York,Home And Away,Neighbours,The Gadget Show.
They all pull in 1 million viewers, some of them might be 2 million viewers which is strong for C5,so I think if C5 Big Brother is good enough it could be pulling in slightly bigger than what it was pulling in on C4 in the end.
No

I agree (I'm feeling very agreeable today). All that 'goodbye BB', BB R 'eye' P' etc fuss last year and now it's back??
The ratings will have to be 2 million at the very least. Probably more. Remember on C4 the programme was in trouble when the ratings were 3 million so, taking into consideration it Channel 5, it's got to be over 2 million which is achievable. Less than that they'll be wondering why they bothered.
At the moment I'm making a nice 'Told You So!' gif.

People wont give it a second chance in general so channel 5 are going to focus on bringing in kids to watch. This will ultimately make the show over dramatic and cheesy which will drive existing fans away so the ratings will not be good.
I do not want this to happen but I can definitely see it happening.

I 100% agree jf, I think it will be seen as a really great success on and for Channel 5.
Good examples you gave of the already successes on Channel 5 too, Neighbours still getting around 1.5 million even on Channel 5.

Your wrong
My big fat gypsy wedding pulls in 8 million on Channel 4 :o
And the million pound drop still gets over 2 million
