BONKERS Brits are planning to “wreak havoc” in the Big Brother house when it returns this summer.
Mad Big Brother wannabes are lining up to join the show and make the next series the wackiest-ever to hit telly screens.
They turned out in their droves yesterday as show bosses trawled a comic book convention for future housemates.
Staff hoped London’s Comic Con event would offer up some of the nation’s biggest oddballs.
And they were not disappointed as they hunted for contenders to enter the house that launched the celebrity careers of stars that include Chantelle Houghton, 27, Kate Lawler, 31, and Craig Phillips, 39.
Swarms of comic nuts turned out in fancy dress to compete for a place.
Many were dressed as their favourite superheroes such as Batman and Superman. Others wore even more extravagant outfits, trying to stand out from the outlandish crowd.
Revellers pushed for attention by covering themselves head-to-toe in green make-up. Others wore bulky chains and huge black wigs.
And they were openly battling each other for a chance to make themselves famous when the show returns in August. Celia Mitchard, 25, from Bath, who dressed as a joker-like harlequin, said she wanted to bring mayhem to the show.
She said: “I’d want to bring a bit of chaos to the house, it would be fun to wreck the place, total car crash telly, it’d be brilliant.
“Then I would probably try and escape after – maybe climb over one of the walls.”
Cat-like Queenie Jean, 19, a student from Upton Park, east London, added: “I would absolutely love it, it would be wild in there if I was one of the housemates.
“I would definitely wear some outfits of mine and just be a bit crazy.”
Another comic-book fan, Dave French, came dressed as evil DC Comic anti-hero Lobo.
Mr French, 40, said: “There’s always a bit of friction in the house but I wouldn’t stand for it.
“I’m normally a placid guy but if I was in there and someone annoyed me I’d definitely let them know fast.”
Channel 5 producers decided to attend the event because some of showbiz’s most outrageous stars are comic mag collectors.
Celebs such as foul-mouthed Frankie Boyle, 38, scruffy Johnny Vegas, 39, Hollywood hunk Nicolas Cage, 47, and Jonathan Ross, 50, are all self-confessed comic book fans.
Talent scouts for the reality telly show headed down to chat to potential BB housemates, armed with a video camera to catch some of the crazy comic geeks who descended on the venue.
About 60,000 people attended the event at London’s Excel exhibition centre at Royal Victoria Dock.

So much for actual fun people as opposed to those trying to be something they're not. Yet another example of the types of people we'll see in the house yet again...

OH FFS!
Stop ******ing saying 'Yeah you know, we're so chilled and normal - and we're just going to bring the show back to the ground like it was in the early years and relight that amazing magic that was Big Brother. No more freaks'
ONE ******ING MINUTE and then;
'BIG BROTHER FANS CAN LOOK FORWARD TO A SEXY COMIC BOOK FILLED SUMMER AS THOUSANDS OF WEIRDOS CUE UP TO ENTIRE THE NEW SEX DEN BUILT TO REALLY HEAT THINGS UP! FIRST ON THE LINE UP IS A MEXICAN TRANSSEXUAL WRESTLER NAMED MARGE!'

I already have a feeling C5 BB will be a version of TRW and my hope and excitement for the show is rapidly decreasing.

What the actual ******?
Big Brother was adapted from The Real World.
Without The Real World - no Big Brother.
The Real World isn't full of freaks, it's just normal people - some of them have problems but they aren't exactly ******ing comic book characters or clowns or Russian Willy Wonka wanna-bes.
Big Brother returning to it's Real World form how it was in the early years, would be the best thing to happen to the show.
I had high hopes for C5 - but after reading this, it looks like everything they said was bollocks.
Expect to see a Telly tubby enter on launch night.

I do like the fancy dress thing. But then again I don't want it to turn PC or into a "kiddies show".
Sex sells though so someone entering in an Ann Summers type costume would be epic.
Anyway look at BB9. It was the normal people V the freaks!!
We need normal people and freaks.
To be fair what is normal nowadays? Most normal people like to party until like 4am but then they go to bed and won't want to wake up until like 2pm because they have a hangover.... :S
Most normal people don't go to bed at 5am and wake up at 7am.. in which most people on this forum want. We want "insomniacs" who genuinely never sleep. There is hardly any of them though.
But yeah most normal people will get less sleep in BB. Mostly down to that they want "camera time".
Bring on the freaks.. bring on the normal people, bring on the insomniacs.
NO boring freaks or "normal" people. Like Jonty from bb8 was a boring freak. Or Rachel Rice a boring normal person!

I meant recent TRW seasons with the most OTT dramatic characters. If they took it back to the early seasons of TRW that would be ok. :)
Who actually writes these articles? They are complete pieces of non news that actually appear almost deliberately designed to caricature the show and it's fans of bumbling dicktards.

No it wasn't, Big Brother was based on Nineteen Eighty Four, written in the 40s.

Oh sh!t for a few reasons.
1) Some of them look like they would be boring as ****** in the house. Dressing up is just a way of making themselves appear more fun and 'out there' than they probably are.
2) Some of them probably would live up as 'wacky characters' but they'd be mor ein touch with the Jontys and Kathreyas of the world. Hyperrealistic and could alienate viewers.
3) I'm not sure but I think I went to school with 1 of those girls wearing pink. She looks the spitting image of the girl I knew - and she's a sociopath who was always totally against BB when I knew her. Hope it's not her.

btw - Girl centre right has a moustache.
btwbtw - These types of people generally aren't really any fun and don't know how to socialise with other people not like them. They would just fade into the background. Doubt this is the tyepe of people BB really wants [psychologist/]

I know that, but the whole Reality TV concept was took from The Real World.
Endemol even said this at one point in the early years of Big Brother.
Why are we all obsessing over a random picture that isin't even from the auditions?

Either way - if they are sticking to their word though [about keeping the housemates normal] then I doubt any of these people, if that is the real picture - will get in anyway.
They look fairly normal to me. They are just sci fi nerds dressing up, that's all. Open the picture in a new tab and the name gives it away. It's from comic con.

No one does that.

I would fkucing hate to be in a house full of *******.
Bring back normal feisty, bubbly and genuine people from normal walks of life.
I want Joe Public not Never fcuking Neverland!!!!!
Like ive said in the past the public will warm to people like themselves and celebrate a housemate becoming succesful and effectively make them a celeb as they like them as a person.
The public will NOT warm to wannabees who think they deserve fame! Why should we waste money on voting for someone who deserves fcuk all.

You don't need to get too carried away everyone, The Star has always posted rediculous storylines and hype around the show and none of it has ever come true. Plus I don't believe that the channel showing BB has that much influence over the casting anyway, that's Endemol's job IIRC.
And whilst the idea of recruiting contestants from a comic con may be unusual it might just be a stroke of genius, aren't I right in saying that Marcus was a massive comic book geek and used to go to conventions regularly?
