Most Loved #4 [Votes close at 8pm!]

Waddup friends! It's that time of year where you all have to get your nice thinking caps on and think about the reasons why you log in every day (a compulsive need to download photos from Meet The Members does not count. Ahem.) and reward those reasons in a thread of self gratitude and a general evening of love and affection.

The format:

Round 1 - every member can nominate up to 10 members (ideally you will nominate 10) who they believe should qualify for the Most Loved Top 50(ish) count down - you do not rank these in order, but just list ten names. Three nominations (that is, three different members listing, for example, Patrick in their ten nominations) qualify that member for the second round of voting.

Rules for round 1 - you may not nominate permanently banned members, and all members are free to withdraw themselves from being nominated if they so wish. Last time around, Claymores did not wish to be nominated even though he had qualified for round 2, so he was withdrawn from the competition and members who had voted for him were allowed to use their nomination on another member instead.

Round 2 - This is where it gets more interesting. After 50ish members have qualified for round 2, the shortlist will be posted and round 2 will open. Members must then choose their top 10 favourite members from this list of 50 and rank them in order of preference, from 1st to 10th place, and send their vote to me in a Private Message. You MUST include reasons for voting for these members as when I do the count down, I will be typing up a paragraph with reasons why each member is loved by the forum. 1st place in a set of votes in round 2 will receive 10 points, 2nd place = 9 points ... 10th place = 1 point.

Final list - The first round, where members received nominations, will be multiplied by 3 to give the top 50 members a first round score (e.g. if Patrick received 5 nominations, he'd have 15 points in round 1) which will be added to the second round score (e.g. if Patrick received 59 points overall in round 2) giving a final score (e.g. Patrick would have 74 points) and this overall score will be used to dictate where members finish on the final list.

I won't open nominations just yet, so that people can ask any questions they may have if they aren't familiar with the competition, but will probably open them in about an hour if there aren't any questions! :hugesmile:

The voting procedure for Round 2 is as follows:

You must choose TEN users from this list, no more, no less, and rank them in order of preference from top to bottom in the PM (first name = 1st place, tenth name = 10th place) along with reasons for your choice. Reasons can just be a couple of words or they can be long paragraphs detailing why you love this member, but you must pick ten and ten only. You may not vote for yourself if you are included on the list, but you may still vote; all users are welcome to vote. Anyone who is included on this list is welcome to withdraw from the list and another user will take their place on the list according to Round 1 votes and a random pick as made by my lovely co-host Emily Walcott-Barnaby (my alter ego for the competition, she's blonde and has a prominent jaw, don't stare at for the love of God) - but please note that this is a positive competition and is all in the name of good fun. The Eurovision scoring system shall be used, so in your votes for Round 2, first place shall receive 12 points, second = 10, third = 8, fourth = 7 down to tenth = 1 point. This is why you must choose ten people in your vote, to make sure everyone's vote is equal. I will not accept incomplete votes.

Nate, or Nathan, has one of the highest post counts on the forum. Amazingly, he seems to have gotten there without making any enemies. Comments about Nathan include “a genuine good guy”, “good for banter” and “a cool guy.” One member said he is “a man of few words but they’re always great when they come out! Loyal and loveable.” Another member said he “is like a brother to me”, and another member supported him because, as they said “Patrick’s repetitive threads getting you down? Help is near! Nate will always have a thread to make the whole forum come together in lulz.” One member voted for him “because we have a lot in common and I enjoy posting with him, nice guy” while another said he was a “brilliant member, he’s funny and is always very kind.” Another member compared him to a brother, saying “now he’s like that annoying younger brother that half the time you wish would piss off, but you love him anyway. He’s probably one of the funniest members on the forum, legend.”

Stu has returned to the forum and in the short space of time that he’s been back for, he’s reminded people of all the reasons why we loved him in the first place. “One of the first friends I had on TiBB – great poster” said one member, while another said “scathing and opinionated, but I swear my laptop's life has nearly ended with the amount of juice/tea/vodka/wine his comments have made me spit at it!” He has “strong opinions on stuff, speaks his mind and just a really interesting character” and is “opinionated, fun and hilarious: 3 points that make a brilliant member.” Stu is popular because “he keeps it real and tells it like it is”, “makes me laugh” and “he is the member I look forward to the most when I am on the forum. I love his boldness, his brashness, his put downs and his BRUTAL honesty! I also loved it when Stu and WOMBAI used to argue like an old married couple. For me, he is the king of the forum. You have to endure his deepest hatred to get the most of his love! In terms of entertainment, Stu wins hands down. There is never a dull moment whether it is for the wrong or right reasons.” One member said “his exits leave a big hole in the forum” and another was thankful for his return, stating “honestly, since he's been back it's like TiBB's gone up to being 20% tolerable! He has this talent of being able to pluck the most unusual and longwinded of insults to those eternally in need of them. If you're on his wrong side, you're in the wrong. End of.
