View Full Version : What Decade would you of liked to of been Born in?

I was just thinking of this today.

It's hard to pick, I'm only basing my choices in what I've seen in Video Games and Movies really or from what I've heard.

I would like to of been born in the late 60s and then grow up around the 70s, and be a 80's Teen.

The music and that, and the outfits - no one really gave a ******, also with the 90's.
Everyone was just themselves and did their own thing, nowadays everyone has to be the same and you're branded a freak for being unique.

Also I wouldn't mind living in the 1911 - just because I think it'd be awesome to be a Cowboy and stuff like in Red Dead Redemption.

No but seriously what decade would you of liked to of been born in and why?

The 70's so I would have been in my teens in 80's/90's when all my favourite bands were releasing music.

Although I do consider myself quite lucky tbh, as I am and will be a teenager throughout the early Tweenies/Teenies [w/e the ****** this decade is being called].

Which is great because it means I can see technology evolve and use it, where as other people will be dieing and stuff or be too old to do use things.

When I'm in my 20s, things will of changed so much.

So it's exciting.
This is the future x

I don't wanna be born in a different decade. I'm fine with being born in the 90's and being noughties/teenies (?) teen. http://oi54.tinypic.com/rm5w6q.jpg

If I had to change it, I'd like to be born in the future. :amazed:

The one I was. The late 70's

Perfect age to grow up with 80's and 90's music and then the turn of the millenium in my early 20's. Great timing to enjoy it

Sounds awesome.
I would of loved to of been old enough to fully appreciate and party during New Year 2000.

I heard it was brilliant, everyone thinking we were entering a new world or something.

Apparently people were still 'stuck' in the 90s Era up until about 2003 - then they begun embracing change.

[This is just what I've read lol]

I mean if you look at Apple [who think they're the dog's bollocks, Apple basically think they ARE the future. :bored:] I mean when they release things like the iPad and that it's like :amazed:.

But I bet in 5 Years the iPad will be a piece of turd compared to the new stuff that's out.

I don't have an iPad, nor do I want one.

But name one thing that's better than it or more technologically advanced than it?

If you can name me something I'll like accept it and admit I'm wrong, but it's unlikely..

I.m happy where I was born in the 90s, but since I really love music, then the 1960s seemed to have an explosion of British acts that dominated worldwide,so for that reason I would have liked to have been around in the 1960s.
Just to see if it really was the fun and liberating time it's recorded in history to have been.

The iPad isn't that technologically advanced, it's just an oversized iPod, I don't know the name of the other tablet, but it works at the same speed as a laptop

 Just realized this, that there would be no internet.

OMG Maybe that's why kids/people back in the other decades were so much happier than we are?

Because they didn't have internet and they made their own fun, rather than spending their time on Facebook all day.

Maybe 1950's America, so I could experience the US in its glory at its prime. The media industry at the time, the presidents, (JFK, Eisenhower, Nixon etc...) the cold war, revolutionary architecture, scientific discoveries, the space race, revolution of design industries, tallest buildings on Earth, rapidly growing cities... Would have bin amazing. Suppose it's similar to China today. Unfortunately, today the US is a ****hole.

Other than that, I'm happy today, with technology and plenty of interesting things happening/discoveries. I'd probably take today over any other decade if I was forced to make a choice.

I was born at the right time for me in 1990.. In sport Rangers dominated Scottish football and won 7 titles in a row whilst i was growing up 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 ( Only lost the league title once in 1998 in the whole decade ) and the EPL was so much better, Bergkamp, Zola, DiCanio, etc Beckham, Keane, Giggs, Scholes all coming through at United Best Era for video games as well.. FF7, FF8, FF9 ( the best RPG's ever made ) The Kids TV Shows were amazing Zzzap! Playdays, Art attack, Funhouse, get your own back, Noah's island, Spot, Rosie and Jim, Brum, I could go on.

Being born in the 80's was excellent. The 90's was an amazing decade to be a kid/teenager in; full of random clothes, music and attitudes.

Also we got to know the world before the internet/mobile phone age and after as it grew popular as we were in our teens.

Life was a lot safer until the mid-1990s. Crime seems to be on rapid increase. My dad always tells me that in 1979 you could leave your door open, go out and come back with your house in the same condition as it was before; crime was scarce in those days. Now, unfortunately, it's the complete opposite. :)

What have you experienced during the 1990s? Even though there were mobile 'phones, the only additional feature that distinguished it from a normal house telephone was the ability to text. They were like big blocks! In my opinion, up until about 2003/2004, mobile 'phones were like the average house telephone we have today (bar the ability of being able to text). :)
