View Full Version : Pete - No Contribution

Is it just me who thinks that Pete contributes nothing to us, the viewing public.

On the highlights show tonight all we saw was another of his Tourette's tirades, which may I add is getting rather repetitive. And if it weren't for the diary room 'conversation', he would have contributed nothing to tonight's show.

It has been that way for every highlight show. He's not interesting..

Bonnie and Glyn haven't said a word yet in the highlights.

He joins in with the group, and is a nice guy. He played the noise game, played with the others in the pool.
At least he actually does things other than get groped by other HMs, unlike Imogen. He also contributes more than Bonneh and Glyn, who I sometimes forget are in the house.
I think that he's got more personality than several of the other HMs, and from what I've seen so far, I'd say it's a rather nice personality too.

Yeah, I am not denying that Glyn is as boring as a bag of spuds. But, then again, a lot of housemates aren't getting any time on the highlights. Namely Bonnie & Imogen.

They are actually rather different when they're watched on the live feed. They have much more of an input. I think at the moment, Shahbaz is taking up everyone's screen time. :bored:

Yeah, I meant in tonight's show.

I think Glyn had one 'yeah' in tonight's show and George said 'I'm straight, I'm straight' to Richard in the pool (an interesting parallel with the Glyn situation the other day, as was Sezer trying to cuddle Imogen with his clothes off, eugh)

A total word count of all Bonnie has said so far in the series would be interesting - it can't be much.

Pete said Shabaz hadnt done anything to him so why should he turn against Shabaz just because everyone else has it just shows Pete has his own mind an dosnt play follow the leader

It's probably more than George.

I don't mind Bonnie. I think she has potential, unlike Glyn. Neither of them have got their suitcase either, though, so it must be pretty tough for them.

I'd rather see Bonnie stay than Glyn anyway. It's all the people who haven't got their suitcases who seem to be the quiet ones?:puzzled:

you say "if it wasnt for the diary room thing" well...as u said he did contribute that....so there u go....whereas others like mikey george and a few others...contributed nothing to it

but anyway the highlights shows are stupid...specialy this early on, because they have to plug certain people and theres too many to get thru....which is why we have never even seen half of them in the diary room...

I think Pete is a really nice guy and it is good to see someone different in the house, However if he wins I will be very disapointed.

Seems like it's just you, Lance.

Did you read that sentence back before you posted? It's the same as saying; 'His not being able to hear is getting rather repetitive' with regards to a deaf person. And, strangely enough, none of the hm's have editorial privileges for the recap show.

He may not be interesting to you, but the threads elsewhere on this forum would certainly suggest that you represent the (tiny) minority view in that regard. To play devil's advocate, could it be that you find it difficult to separate the disability from the man, perhaps?

Pete has a great personality! He is cute and fun! And he did show us his huge willy in the pool! :hello:
And he likes Shabaz because he can understand him! They both had a rough time growing up! I just got disappointed because he likes Lisa and I think she is a horrible person...but maybe he sees something in her that I cannot see!

I agree actually that he hasn't contributed much so far. It's just Bonnie and Glyn have done less.

The only thing that most people really know about him is that he has tourettes.

Yet another fantastically undermining post from yourself, Jo. Lets all bow at your feet.

May I point you towards Ig's post in this topic: http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=41134&page=3#pid312597

It must have been one that went unoticed by your usually very alert radar.

In the risk of going off-topic.. I have no problem with Pete's disability. I can certainly see him as a person without judging him on the fact he has TS.

I might be the minority but it is my choice to be that way. I'm not going to say I like him because the majority do. And, oh wonderful one, if you don't agree with me it's nowt I'll lose sleep over.

I haven't actually seen a single C4 BB show yet, so all my opinions are based on the E4 live feed. For me though Pete is the best housemate this year (so far anyway) Once you get past the tics, he seems to be the most genuine one of the lot. He also seems to get involved with the group, and there are others that I haven't even been able to learn the names of yet due to them sitting quietly and not getting involved in conversations!

I really like Pete - that said though we have not had much a chance to see anyone other than Shahbaz!! Pete seems to be quite a caring soul who isnt one to follow the herd.

That said Lance I respect your feelings about him, lets face it what a boring world we would live in if we all liked everyone!

Petes cool, I think he gets invloved with everyone and he does contribute

Lance
23-05-2006, 02:26 PM
Oh, just to point out I am not saying that he is false or ingenuine. I don't really know him to make that decision. I have no doubt that he is.

IMO there are far better and far worse housemates in there. Like I said, though.. he just doesn't contribute anything for me. The majority we hear/see of him is him dealing with his Tourettes. I know it's not his fault, the BB producers do pver-emphasise it though. I've made this point before but even when he's not on screen all you hear over a conversation is "W*nkers.. *whistle*"

Disclaimer (before I get jumped on again): No I am not 'finding it difficult to separate the disability from the man.'

Sunny_01
23-05-2006, 02:30 PM
I didnt think you were struggling to seperate his disability from him :joker: - I can see what you are saying because most of what they show in the highlights are his ticks.

I just think we have more to see but it is still early days :joker:

Lance
23-05-2006, 02:32 PM
Yeah, it's a shame because from watching the live feed he seems alright. I posted this with last night's highlights show in mind.

And, yup. I reckon/hope after a week or so they won't focus on his ticks as much. Maybe then I'll see what all the fuss is about.

Who or what exactly is being 'undermined'? There are several positive threads on this forum about Pete. Your opinion differs from the norm, which is fine. But isn't your solitary voice in the wilderness an attempt to undermine that? It's a theory worthy of consideration, at least.

I've hardly been here for a month or so. There wasn't exactly much of any real interest, unless you find Chantelle & Preston interesting of course, which I don't. But thanks for the heads up - illogical, poorly written attacks do thrill me so.

You seem to have a real problem with people who post coherently, Lance. Why does that bother you so?

Yes, Jo. You are fantastic.

'illogical, poorly written attacks do thrill me so' - Ah so that's why you love to hear the sound of your own voice!

My replies may not be to your 'oh so wonderful' standard but if it bothers you that much do not take the time to reply to my posts. Simple.:eureka:

I believe it was people like yourself that the 'Ignore' button was invented for.

That link I gave you, by the way, Jo, was a post by 'Ig'. Thought you may find it interesting that you're not the only extremely wonderful poster on here.

I repeat: if my "illogical, poorly written attacks" do not meet your superior standards, feel free to ignore them. It really won't do you any damage. Really.:spin2:

EDIT: Actually, Jo, from now on in I won't bother replying to you. It is obvious you get a kick out of getting a reaction from people. Get your kicks from somebody else, preferably on another forum, because I shalln't waste my time.:wavey:

You really do have quite a persecution complex Lance, which is rather sad. My post which you took exception to was perfectly rational, and simply focused on your post. There was nothing personal involved, and certainly nothing to warrant your overreaction, either.

I was actually referring to the link you posted. I can't be held responsible if you decide to misread a perfectly straightforward post.

Am I supposed to be upset here? I'd do the same, but I find your rather extreme am-dram responses quite interesting.

Now you've lost me. I read the post, but it was illogical and full of errors. So what's your point?

And I repeat: read things properly before you run around making inaccurate assumptions.

I get no 'kicks' out of anything, Lance. If I was posting in the manner you suggest, then why are there no warnings in my profile? I can see that you have a real problem with anyone that disagrees with you. Most people do, it's human nature. But you make things very personal indeed, which is really poor form for a mod. So I suggest if your problem really runs so deep, hit that little old 'Ignore' button.

^I'm a man of my word.
------------------------------------------------------

Pete has grown on me a bit since my initial post. I never really diliked him.. I just found that all that he was on screen for was his Tourettes.

But he is a genuine person, as a few people have already said on here. I still don't want to see him win but I'd rather he stayed longer than a few other housemates. I'd like to see how he is shown on the highlight shows in two or three weeks and see if there is still as much emphasis on his Tourettes.

Glyn to go.:sleep::laugh:

Hopefully now that Shahbaz is gone we will see more of all the HMs, and be able to form opinions of them rather than them all being in the sidelines.

I think it would be a lot higher than Glyn, George and Mikey. If you watch the live feed then you will realise she talks A LOT! And by saying 'A LOT' i'm not exagurating.

Everytime i watch the live feed, it's her that it's focused on a lot and she is talking a lot but for some reason they don't show it in the highlight shows which is annoying.
