Dr Dre has confirmed that his comeback single 'Under Pressure' featuring Jay-Z could be released in as little as two weeks.
The pair were rumoured to be working together after a photo surfaced on Twitter of the rappers in the studio together.
Dre told CNBC: "Hopefully, we'll be releasing 'Under Pressure' in the next two weeks or so, and I'm definitely gonna be putting the album out this year, finally. I think everyone is gonna be happy with it.
"I'm just trying to finish this record, finally get it done, get it out and start promoting it."
The hip-hop star's new LP Detox has been ten years in the making and will feature contributions from Nas, T.I., Lil Wayne and R. Kelly.
Dre has previously stated that this record will be his last.
*His last major solo release was The Next Episode

Dr Dre has revealed that he has been listening to a lot of Kraftwerk as he completes work on his long-awaited comeback album Detox.
Over ten years in the making, the producer is currently putting the finishing touches to the follow-up to 1999's 2001. He recently announced details of the record's first single 'Under Pressure'.
Dre has now admitted that he has been embracing an eclectic range of music genres in order to help fuel his creativity during the mastering process.
He told Reuters: "I've been listening to a lot of old '60s and '70s music. Things like Kraftwerk and Parliament Funkadelic. I've really been listening to a lot of Kraftwerk.
"Kraftwerk had a really big inspiration on the beginning of hip-hop. My tastes change with the season. Right now it's Kraftwerk. I'll see what happens this summer."

Eminem has revealed that he and Dr Dre have been collaborating on new tracks.
In a phone interview with his Sirius satellite station Shade 45, the rapper declined to give details about the songs but teased that fans may get to hear them in the near future.
"I'm in the studio with Dre now, let's just say that," he said.
"Pretty soon he's going to make a beat and I might rap on it."
Asked if the tracks may appear on Dre's forthcoming LP Detox, Eminem answered: "Other than that I can neither confirm nor deny."
Nicki Minaj recently praised Eminem's appearance on her debut album Pink Friday, claiming that the duet "gave life" to the record.

Eminem turned to Dr. Dre to help him get out of his funk when the two hit the studio to work on the Detroit lyricist's post-hiatus comeback LP, Relapse. Now, it looks like the tables have turned.
On Dre's "I Need a Doctor" — the second leak in as many days from the producer's long-awaited Detox — Em lowers the boom on his mentor saying his "perfectionist" rep is leaving the legend stuck in the mud.
"It hurts when I see you struggle/ You come to me with ideas/ You say they're pieces, so I'm puzzled," Eminem raps over the Alex da Kid produced-number. " 'Cause the sh-- I hear is crazy/ But you're either getting lazy/ Or don't believe in you no more/ Seem like your own opinion is not one you can form/ Can't make a decision/ You keep questioning yourself, second guessing, it's almost like you're begging for my help/ Like I'm your leader, you're supposed to be my mentor/ I can endure no more/ Don't you remember who you are."
Throughout the track, an emotionally charged Eminem references his own struggles and Dre's assistance and notes the super-producer's personal troubles as well, citing his son's death. Dre then rhymes about the pair's history, from "Guilty Conscience" to his own indecisiveness.
"Went through friends, some of them I put on, but they just left," Dre raps. "They said they was riding to the death/ But where the f--- are they now, now that I need them?/ I don't see any of them, all I see is Slim."
Last month, Eminem revealed he and Dre were in the studio, presumably putting the final touches on Detox. "I'm in the studio with Dre now, let's just say that," Em said in an interview on his Shade 45 satellite radio station. "Pretty soon he's going to make a beat and I might rap on it."
Do you think Dre's Detox will ever be completed? Tell us in the comments!

Dr Dre's delayed third and final album Detox is to be promoted on the iPhone game Mafia Wars.
According to Yahoo News, Dre has teamed up with the game's developer Zynga to incorporate music from his upcoming release within the game itself.
The report claims that the album's first single 'Kush' will be streamed on Mafia Wars upon its release.
The partnership is a first for the social game developer, who are best known for their Facebook game FarmVille.
As well as incorporating Dre's music, Mafia Wars will also include a number of special branded items that players will be able to purchase.
Detox is scheduled to be released in February 2011.

Dr. Dre recently filmed a music video for his new single "I Need a Doctor" in downtown Los Angeles. He is set to share screen with one of his featured guests Eminem - the Slim Shady was spotted on the filming location earlier this week.
The "Recovery" rapper arrived on the set in a black Cadillac Escalade, wearing black sagging jeans and black jacket on top of a casual white T-shirt. The Doc himself and his other collaborator Skylar Grey were not seen anywhere near the site.
"I Need a Doctor" comes from production hands of Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" mastermind Alex da Kid. The single is confirmed to appear in Dre's next studio album "Detox" which will arrive later this year. The single itself will be released for download on February 1.
"Detox" is a long-delayed album which will be Dre's first studio release since his 1999 effort "2001". There is a long gap between the two albums because he is a perfectionist. "[I'm] trying to put it out by the end of the fall," he once said. "Trying to give everybody what they've been waitin' for and make sure they're not disappointed; that's all I'm doing."
In a separate interview with MTV, fellow rapper 50 Cent couldn't agree more when it comes to Dr. Dre, saying that the powerhouse producer/MC's track record is enough to make the CD a highly-anticipated one. "I think everyone is [looking forward to it]," he said. "When you got a producer that has that kind of production track record, you even have to credit both Eminem's success and my success to Dr. Dre as a producer."

It has been over 15 years since hip hop legend Dr. Dre was in the pop top 10 as a lead artist on "Keep Their Heads Ringin'." Now surrounded by some of the hottest current musicians in hip hop circles, it looks like he is well on his way back to those lofty circles. "I Need a Doctor" was produced by Alex Da Kid and includes guest vocals from Skylar Grey and Eminem. The song plays out interpersonal drama between Dr. Dre and his protege Eminem. The dramatic intensity of the sound of the song is similar to "Love the Way You Lie" which was also produced by Alex Da Kid. Some fans complain that it is too much in a pop vein, but for pop fans the drama and intensity of the song may be endearing. Whatever the concerns, the song has roared to the top of the iTunes chart today in its first day of release. It remains anyone's guess the specific release date of Dr. Dre's third and final album Detox, but it looks like spring may be when it arrives at last.

Dr. Dre’s eagerly anticipated album “Detox” has been given yet another release date, however the date happens to be 1st April…
The album which has been pushed back since 2004 looks likely to be released sometime this year with the release of the lead single “I Need A Doctor” featuring Eminem and Skylar Grey topping the iTunes chart, however the album was first thought to be released in March until reps for Dre denied this.
Now, on the official website of the producer/rapper, there is an image of the single artwork which has been redesigned along with the text “Album Available 4.1.2011.” Of course this is April’s Fools Day so it could well be a joke but for now it seems that April is the month that “Detox” will finally be made available.

As this year's Grammy Awards rapidly approach, the show's schedule is starting to take shape. Promoters have just announced that rap music will lead the charge with Dr. Dre and Eminem serving up a dose of 'Detox' and kicking-off the program with a rare performance. Presumably plugging 'I Need a Doctor,' the 'Detox' single that dropped yesterday, this will be Dre's first big public look as a performer in years. (Consider Dre's surprise appearance at Em and Jay-Z's Detroit Home and Home concert, a warm-up.)
Music News Daily, who broke this tidbit, cites an inside source that says Eminem will also do a solo performance from his wildly successful 'Recovery' album. The opening slot for Dre and Em continues the recent tradition of opening up the Grammys with a huge, culture-spanning duet. Last year's big moment featured a surprise collaboration between Lady Gaga and Elton John.
'I Need a Doctor' is currently the top download in the iTunes store and seems to have struck a balance between longtime Dre fans and general pop music aficionados that went for tracks like Eminem's 'Love The Way You Lie' in 2010. The latest rumors place 'Detox' for an April 1 release date, yet as usual with Dre, we'll believe it when we hear it for real.
The 2011 Grammy Awards will air live on CBS on Feb. 13.

blah. can't stand it now. It's so weak compared to his older stuff.
It's a pure vanity project. He is the first to admit he is not a good lyricist. The rest of the gang write most of his raps for him in the studio. His genius is in his production talents which he does for Eminem anyway. So what exactly seperates this song from being just an Eminem track? The tiny little Dre rap at the end? The fact that it's being sold under his name?
I love his old stuff. I enjoyed hearing him wax poetic about *****z and bitches. I'm not interested in his six billion pop friendly collaborations and 'sophisticated' beats.
Same argument can be applied to plenty of Hip Hop stars today. The scene is dreadful above ground at the moment. You have to dig deep to find decent Hip Hop.

What can you say about someone like Dre, yeah it's not a "typical" Dre song, but it get's his ****ing point across, Dre hasn't been here for ten years, times change so does his developmet, if you wanna hear about drugs go listen to Kush, that (apparently) is the only song about drugs on the album (I'm not saying it is, we are talking about Dre after all). But I mean he did lose a child to drugs and almost his best friend (EMINEM) so it doesn't surprise me this is am "eminem" song, why wouldn't it be.... i mean all the lyrics make sense, Eminem thanking Dre after so many years is not a step back in my opinion more a step forward..... if it is the last collaboration of the two then I'm happy.... yeah it doesnt come close to classic but it does the job for me.... after all the history I would quite happily let this be their last song without any qualms.

What do boxing, Eminem and Dr. Dre have in common. Answer = nothing. However, this coming Friday (May 6) Hip-Hop's Batman and Robin will unveil the latest offering from Dr. Dre's Detox album following boxers Manny Pacquiao and "Sugar" Shane Mosley "Fight Camp 360°: Pacquiao vs. Mosley" on Showtime.
The impending debut of the third official single from Dr. Dre's third album was announced at the conclusion of last week's episode of Showtime's four-part documentary series. The show goes behind the scenes of the preparation for the welterweight championship bout between Pacquiao and Mosley on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Miami rapper Rick Ross tweeted that he will be accompanying Pacquiao to the ring on fight night.
As for "Die Hard," it is the second of Detox's three official singles to feature Dre's protégé Eminem, who appeared on "I Need a Doctor." Dre and Eminem have also teamed with Chrysler to endorse the Detroit automaker's vehicles.
Fans were immediately excited over news of the new single.
"damn i know its gonna be dope please let it be produced by dre and eminem to be like in forgot about dre please GOD !!!!" MONK says.
"damnn cant wait i hope dre produced it though i wasnt really feeling the i need doctor production after hearing shady tear up that fast lane song i got high hopes" ITTS Dmaan wrote.
Some fans were more exicted at the fact of recieving more Eminem music.
"Damn….. Em cant lose right now. Hes on “I need a Doctor” and “Die Hard”, “Space Bound” is about to drop soon…. “Fast Lane” was Crazy, “Bad meets Evil” is coming, He is on Lil waynes “Carter 4″, Slaughterhouse album, Royce “Success is Certain”, “Detox” and More to come…… " CapricornReligion wrote in.

News trickles out of Dr. Dre's Aftermath compound in sporadic, unreliable bursts, but Friday yielded a rare little dispatch. To refresh your memory, "Detox" has been "almost done" for a decade, and half of its original collaborators are probably planning their IRA's, and yet no release date been set. That's right, no release date. Still. You see where I'm going with this.
Just last week, Snoop Dogg sniped at Dr. Dre for forgoing loose studio exuberance for tightly controlled perfectionism. But Friday, Kendrick Lamar, who many assume will be filling Snoop's role on the original "Chronic" (i.e., fiery young upstart with star potential) has confirmed that he has been confirmed on several songs on Dre's long-delayed third solo record. That is, if the album ever sees the light of day.
So as if to allay the massive skepticism that Dre's "Chinese Detoxcracy" has accrued over the last three presidencies, DJ Khalil announced that "Dre's in the final stretch of recording the LP."
"Dre's album is definitely the most important thing right now, because he is definitely in the final stretch," Khalil told Billboard. "He has the record going, but I'm sure he thinks there are pieces missing still. Until he finds those pieces, maybe he's not comfortable putting it out yet... It's definitely a West Coast sound -- more futuristic West Coast sound -- at least from what I've turned in," he says. "I don't know what he's keeping, though."
For those of you keeping score, "Detox" is coming, you know, soon. When? No one knows but Dre. And there are songs on there that may or may not feature Khalil's production. And Kendrick Lamar. And Game, from what a reliable source told me two weeks ago. That is, if they all don't get cut from the final tracklist.
So what does the good Doctor think of all this? Surely, he'd like to step forward, clarify the rumors and give a concrete release date, right? Uh, well, he's busy making Chrysler commercials with director Mark Romanek and Lakers player Shannon Brown. Because nothing says gangsta rap like a modestly priced Detroit-manufactured automobile and a backup shooting guard for a team that got swept out of the playoffs.
You may be wondering if there is any music coming out of the Aftermath/Interscope camp, besides the string of big promises and middlebrow vehicles. Well, the duo of Bad Meets Evil (Eminem & Royce da 5'9") have leaked their latest single. It's called "Lighters" and it features Bruno Mars and a sugary Top 40 hook about a "sky full of lighters."

Tha Doggfather gives an update on the oft-delayed third solo album from Dre.
Kendrick Lamar recently said that Dr. Dre’s near mythical album Detox was in the mixing phase, and Snoop Dogg is singing the same tune. In the latest issue of NME magazine, Tha Doggfather gives an update on the LP and claims that it will arrive sooner rather than later.
“Yeah, we’ve been working on it. It’s almost finished. So that’s coming out soon,” he revealed.
He also explained that he has never before said that the album was nearing completion but promises that it will be delivered soon. He also said that Eminem contributes to the project, but did not elaborate on how involved he will be in the project.
“I ain’t never said it was almost finished. He might, but that’s my first time I ever said it. I was always saying it was taking too long to get done. It feels good now. We got Slim [Eminem] on it.”
On the 21 September 2011, The D.O.C. confirmed on Twitter that previously released singles Kush and I Need a Doctor will not appear on the album.
Promotion for 'Detox' will begin early November.
The first official single will be The Psycho ft 50 Cent.

Kendrick Lamar has played a big role in west coast hip-hop in recent months, and has since been acknowledged by his brethren from the left side of the map. While doing an interview with Sway Calloway for the Shade 45 morning show on SiriusXM radio, Kendrick hinted that he’s been working closely on Dr. Dre’s album Detox, which has been a work in progress for what seems like a decade. K. Dot says the album is still in the mixing phase, and although he says he wrote many songs for Dre, he doesn’t know how many of them will make the cut.
“Detox is getting mixed. That’s all I can say. It’s getting mixed. I could say anything about Detox, nobody would ever believe me.”
In terms of how many tracks Kendrick supplied, he had this to say.
“I got a few. I don’t know what’ll stick, as of yet. The creative process is so crazy as far as going in there and narrowing down all these songs. Thousands of songs.”
Thousands of songs? Really? I know Dre’s been making Detox for a while now, but thousands?! Damn, Dre. At this rate, you would think he would just put out at least a 5-disc album, but Kendrick says Dre won’t put anything on there that’s not perfect.
“Perfection. Dre is the ultimate perfectionist. He’s not scared. He hears sounds that the average human being can’t even equate with the human ear. I’ve been in sessions with him. It’s perfection.”
Kendrick also shared his experience of the first time he got in the studio with the legendary producer.
“You know what’s crazy, on some real ****? I thought I’d be nervous as hell. But I walked in that studio and I was ready, 100 percent ready. He greeted me like a regular cat and made me feel comfortable.”

Dr Dre and Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am were spotted leaving a restaurant in London last night (October 4) amid speculation the producer is gearing up for the release of his new album.
The long-overdue 'Detox', which is the follow-up to 1999's '2001', was originally due out last year, but has been hit by repeated delays.
On Tuesday, Dr Dre and Will.i.am were seen leaving C restaurant in London before travelling to the nightclub, Boujis.
In June, the rapper and producer was said to be in the “final stretch” of recording.
A release date for 'Detox' has yet to be set but those involved with the project, including Snoop Dogg, have hinted that it could arrive before the end of 2011.
It is not clear whether Will.i.am is also featured on the album, but Eminem is confirmed to appear.
Im willing to wait another decade so long as Will.i.am isn't on it.

oh look someone else for the list of people on Detox.
Working with Dr. Dre has become a rite of passage for superstar rappers, and now Rick Ross will join the likes of Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Nas. At the end of January the Bawse told MTV News that working with Dre has inspired him, but he never actually revealed what it is they were working on. Sunday (February 12) night on the Grammy red carpet, Rozay finally let the cat out the bag.
When MTV News correspondent Sway asked Ross if he and the Good Doctor were working on the Bawse's upcoming God Forgives, I Don't, the Maybach Music Group CEO responded, "That's mandatory, my brother."
Well, what about the long-awaited Detox? "That's mandatory, my brother," Ross repeated, confirming that he too has joined the long list of contributors to Dre's upcoming third album.
"We making some things happen, man — we just gonna see where the pieces fall," he said. "But we most definitely putting in major work."
Rozay and his buddy DJ Khaled also weighed in on MTV News' upcoming "Hottest MCs in the Game VII" debate. Khaled fully expects Ross to top the list. "There's only one number, that's #1, and that's the guy in this sweater right here," the DJ said, gesturing towards Rozay, who was wearing a multicolored sweater.
"Man, we just been putting in a lot of work, and I salute everybody that's even being acknowledged," Ross said. "Getting in this game, that's always a dream, so me being here right now, I just really appreciate the love."
If Ross doesn't land at the #1 spot, he does have a list of rappers that he feels are also deserving. "Me being an executive, I fall on stats. I'm gonna look and see who really had the biggest year, who left the biggest footprint in the cement for the game," he said humbly. "We had a lot of artists that did that, you know, Lil Wayne, of course Drizzy Drake. You know they both delivered the biggest albums of the year. Shout-out to Jay, shout out to 'Ye. The Throne — I thought that was big for hip-hop, making that power move."

Dr. Dre knows beats and he's one of the best at verbally eviscerating his enemies. But now the reclusive rap icon and music mogul is getting ready to enter a whole new arena of battle: the slasher movie.
According to Variety, Dre is set to co-produce the horror thriller "Thaw" for the Crucial Films movie banner. The script for the film will be written by Vik Weet, with a story focusing on an "ancient evil that emerges from the rapidly melting ice in the Yukon."
Curiously, Variety noted that Weet has also written another script for an as-yet-untitled thriller to be directed by action veteran Renny Harlin about the investigation into the 1959 Dyatlov Pass incident, where 9 experienced hikers were found dead in Russia's Ural Mountains.
Dre is no stranger to the movie business, with a resume that includes acting appearances in the 1996 heist flick "Set It Off," as well as turns in the comedy "The Wash" and cop drama "Training Day." He announced a deal in 2007 to team with New Line Cinema's Crucial Films to produce a series of dark comedies and horror films and "Thaw" would be the first effort under that compact.
The move into movies is just one of the big deals Dre could be cooking up. According to reports, HTC, the company that bought a majority stake in his Beats By Dr. Dre brand of headphones line -- which he co-founded with Interscope boss and "American Idol" mentor Jimmy Iovine -- is in talks to acquire the popular online music service MOG.
And, of course, Dre is also still working on his long-promised Detox album. Rick Ross recently told MTV News that he had joined the likes of Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Nas as a contributor
to the top secret project.
"We making some things happen, man -- we just gonna see where the pieces fall," Ross said. "But we most definitely putting in major work.

Dr Dre is reportedly planning to bring Tupac Shakur and Nate Dogg back to life during a performance this weekend.
The rapper will headline California's Coachella music festival on Sunday (April 15) and is allegedly planning to include holograms of the dead hip-hop stars on stage.
A source close to the star said that he will have Tupac projected on to the stage during a performance of 'California Love', while Nate Dogg will appear for 'The Next Episode', reports LA radio station KROQ.
Eminem, Wiz Khalifa, Warren G and Snoop Dogg are also expected to appear on stage with Dr Dre throughout the set.
Dr Dre's upcoming album Detox is still awaiting release, despite reports that the performer entered the final stage of recording last summer.

Have to say, I think the technology is awesome, but I just don't see the need for this at all. It seems a complete gimmick.
It just adds to the cult of dead rappers that exists.
If a loved one was deceased, and someone offered me the chance to project a hologram of them into my living room, I'd say no thanks, that would be weird.
As a one-off Dre should leave it at that, he's better than dragging round a hologram as the main focus of his show.

Yeah, I'm not knocking it. Just to me, it seems weird. There are loads of heroes that we never get to see in the flesh, and if the Em doing motion capture thing is true, then you're actually seeing Em moving to tupacs tunes, which doesn't sound half as appealing.
I personally think it's just a money making ploy taking advantage of people that want Tupac. However, if the people that are being targeted by this gimmick are happy with it, then that's the main thing. I was never a huge Tupac fan, so I wouldn't see him in concert if he was alive to day, but I guess I can appreciate the attachment that some people might see.
It does open the floodgates for a load of mediocrity to come flooding back.

You know it will. If record companies can make money from it, expect to see practically everyone who's ever been famous to go on a hologram tour.
Look at how the movie industry has flooded the cinemas with films that have already been made. This will be the same thing.
Technology gets cheaper and cheaper, so it may be expensive now, but in 5 years, every idiot and their dog will be using it.

Tupac is still alive — or at least rap mogul Suge Knight thinks so.
Days after Tupac Shakur appeared in hologram form at a California concert, Knight suggested the rapper might just be in hiding.
“Nobody seen Tupac dead,” Knight told Los Angeles radio station 93.5 KDAY on Friday.
“Maybe the question is . . . Pac’s not really dead . . . Pac’s somewhere else.”
Knight was with Tupac when he was slain in a hail of bullets in Las Vegas in 1996. His killer has never been found.
Tupac was resurrected at the Coachella Music Festival on Sunday, performing via a high-definition 3-D holographic projection system.

Dr Dre has topped Forbes's annual Hip-Hop Cash Kings list.
The rapper was revealed as the highest-earning hip-hop star in the past year, despite not having released an album in over ten years.
The majority of Dre's $110 million (£69m) income is from his Beats by Dr Dre headphones line, which HTC bought a 51% stake ($300 million) in last year.
Diddy lands at number two with earnings of $45m (£28m), thanks mostly to his stake in Diageo's Ciroc vodka.
Jay-Z, who topped the 2011 list, pulled in over half of his $38m (£24m) from business ventures, including ownership stakes in cosmetics company Carol's Daughter, the Brooklyn Nets and a joint project with battery maker Duracell.
"The reality of it is, you want to do something that you own," said Timbaland, who ranks at number 20 on the list with $6m (£4m). "You want to own what you put your heart into. That's how you make money."
Snoop Dogg is at 14 with earnings of $8.5m (£5.3m), followed by 50 Cent at 15 with $7.5m (£4.7m).
Hip-hop's top 10 earners in full:
1. Dr Dre - $110 million
2. Diddy - $45 million
3. Jay-Z - $38 million
4. Kanye West - $35 million
5. Lil Wayne - $27 million
6. Drake - $20.5 million
7. Birdman - $20 million
8. Nicki Minaj - $15.5 million
9. Eminem - $15 million
10. Ludacris - $12 million
