I was just thinking, if BB does well on channel 5, and if they renew it for the whole 5 years, do you think channel 4 will try and buy it back having noticed the show does still works with the right input?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say 'no'.

No, I cannot see Channel 4 bidding for it again and now they have it if it really took off, no way would Channel 5 let it go, because if it's really big on Channel 5 it will be raking in massive finances for Channel 5 as opposed to most of what Channel 5 currently has.

No! i don't think so, they've laid it to rest and that's were they'll leave it, regardless, in my opinion!

dont think i worded that too well, i mean in the future, after burying it in UBB, do you think C4 would consider bringing it back, in like 10 years

I doubt it and I sure hope not, especially if we get 5 series' on C5 fulled with controversy and everything that was misssing from the later series' on C4.

If it's a big hit Channel 5 wont let go of it. If it's not or tanks eventually again Channel 4 won't want it.

Either way isin't it just such an obvious no?

well, no actually, c5 could (hopefully)have a successful run of big brother for a similar length of time as c4, and then drop it, so what i'm saying is, do you think channel 4 would try and reboot it in 10 years time like channel 5 are doing now

If it's got good ratings, they won't let go, no matter what C4 offers.

I'm pretty sure good ratings is what they want. :joker:

But why would they drop it if it continued to be a success? Channel 5 is appaling. BB is all they have. It's a rubbish bet now and they're still banking the house on it.

If the run does end and go out of steam why would Channel 4 once again buy a show that was in the same sorry condition it was in when they sold it off in the first place?

If it's a success with Channel 5 and C4 do try to get it back I can't see Edemol moving back, Channel 4 dropped it once and they'll do it again as soon as it has a bad year.

No chance, BB is with C5 now until they get bored with it like C4 did then who knows it might go to Dave or something.

I can't see them getting bored with it - even if BB12 does well and it goes on until let's say BB17 and then it starts declining in viewers - C5 will still keep it because they WON'T find a better show.

Rofl Patrick, Is Channel 5 that bad they wont find a good show in the next 5 years? :laugh2:

No but seriously who'd have though early BB when it was massive that it end up a complete pile of dog **** Ala BB8, BB11, UBB. C5 are bound to go the same way eventually. :bored:

C4 said they wanted to move away from this type of program. They said that it had come to a natural ending with them. I hope they never get another opportunity to destroy it again.

At the end of the day it is C4's fault that they didn't freshen the show enough to keep the ratings up. Too many biassed decisions/interviews, not strict enough on rule breakers, too many freaks, wannabees, fauxmances and not enough hardship for housemates.

They don't deserve another shot at it.

It would make C4 a laughing stock. They would never do that to their image. Even if they regretted dropping it and had the cash to get it back they wouldn't ever do it, too embarrassing.

channel 4's hands were well and truly bound they were bitch slapped from pillar to post by ofcom regarding big brother they are now in a position where they arent able to play host to the show anymore.

Having actually bothered to research why the annoying bird tweets were introduced and why alcohol had become a scarcity rather than just gob off about it and stupidly criticise them for it i tried to find out why!

The show began with no limits regarding drinking if they wanted thery could spend their entire budget on £2 bottles of strong white cider and they pretty much did! including drinking sessions that started at 7am when they got up resulting in housemates being carried to bed by dinner time. after a couple of years of that c4 were warned that unlimited alcohol was not acceptable so they introduced a percentage limit which was still pretty generous.

They were slapped with complaints to ofcom once again and told that the safe limit of alcohol per person per week must be abided to so they had to do that and duly delivered the entire weeks allowed limit in 1 delivery (ie enough for 2-3 piss ups per week)

They got bitch slapped again and were told thats it they have to be given the amount of safe units of alcohol per person per day and that was that!

The amount of fines from ofcom the amount of warnings and restrictions that had built up over the years meant that they were unable to carry on they were being slated by the fans and they were being pushed about by ofcom they were backed into an impossible corner and i respect the way they jumped through hoops to prolong the shameful shenanigans that we all know and loved but it couldnt be done any more by c4.

The only real hope that c5 have of reviving it properly is that they can start from scratch and act all innocent and say oh sorry we wont do that again!!! and go through the same routine of slowly being restricted by ofcom.

If they can do that then they can prolong the life of bbuk if not then the only future for it is to become a web based show only as ofcom have no power there.

edit: for the tldr; tards quick answer no c4 wouldnt be interested in bb again.

So you reckon that people only lose their inhibitions under the influence of alcohol then? I think your underselling the maniacs we have in this country. I have no respect for C4 myself. They didn't try and try hard enough to reinvent or change the format or the alter type of housemate they selected.

I doubt Channel 4 will buy it back. Also I'm starting to lose hope that C5 will bring anything new or fresh to this show.

Four have burnt their bridges. They'll have to find another cash cow.

I can't imagine Big Brother returning to another channel after 5 have finished with it.
