Steve Jones as the sole host is one of the biggest jokes I think I have ever heard, and I have no idea why the accent issue hasn't been brought up with him either, surely a Welsh accent will be more difficult for an American to understand than a Geordie? They might as well have picked Dermot anyway, he's much better. But then we would've ended up with Steve no doubt, so actually, I'm glad they have him...
Piss poor line-up for this show in general though.

x2
I've no idea why they've got Paula Abdul or Steve Jones there, she has no opinion and surely his accent will be just as difficult to understand - the presenter needs to be someone the audience is familiar with IMO.
What!? I thought Cheryl got the job back?
They offered her job back in the hopes she would still be too upset /traumatized to return. If she then has chosen to leave they won't have to pay her, as this becomes her choice.
So, unless she was really hardfaced or needed the 1.5 million they're not obliged to pay her that full amount.

As someone said on OK!TV it wasn't a 'plan' because Cheryl and Simon look like fools.
I understand that Nichol was made a presenter so they could keep her nearby as back up in case anything like this happened.
Notice no-one has been announced so far as Steve Jones' co-presenter ... Telling.

It seems Cheryl was offered a hefty increase to return to the UK X Factor, she reportedly turned it down and then was invited back to the USA one but had to reply by a certain date and didn't do so.
Truth is she thought she could get anything she liked from Simon Cowell and now she will turn on him big time because he is now seemingly of no use to her.

and once again I hate to say it but:
Nobody in the USA has ever heard of either celebrity. Has no idea. Never heard of them, do not recognize them from anything. This has zero 'news' factor to anyone in North America.
And they may be perfectly good judges but it is the same as telling you "Did you hear Jane Swanson is replacing Rebecca Greene on AGT this year??".
No.
You have no idea. Even if you see a picture you they don't look familiar.
You MAY vaguely remember some pop group 'Ladyappeal' and kinda recall that hit song if you hear it.
But you don't know anything about who Jane Swanson was.
okay carry on

nobody in the US knows who Nicole Scherzinger, lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, is? okay then
Looks like a lot of Cheryl's 'decisions' were made by her manager Will. I. Am. Mistake ....

That is correct.
If you gave them a sort of preview/bio and explained there was a band 'The Pussycat Dolls' and then played their most memorable song (which nobody remembers) but it might trigger something like "hmm.. ya i think I remember them" or "Oh ya that song right i remember it now".
But nobody has a clue who she is.
This seems to surprise a lot of Brits but almost none of your common 'household name' celebrities are recognizable to USA audiences.
Not by name or face or their careers, movies, songs etc. As if total unknowns.

Scherzinger ‘was always going to get Cheryl’s job’
- claims Nicole's ex-manager
Lined up ... Nicole Scherzinger with ex-boss Jeff Haddad

Nicole ‘always going to get job’
CHERYL Cole sacked from US X Factor as a publicity stunt, says Scherzinger’s ex-boss
CHERYL Cole was sacked from the US X Factor as a publicity stunt - with Nicole Scherzinger always intended to be a judge, it was claimed yesterday.
Nicole's former manager Jeff Haddad said Simon Cowell always wanted the Pussycat Doll for the job.
And he insisted Cheryl, 27, below - who was axed last month - was just being used to hype the series.
Nicole started off co-hosting the show with Welshman Steve Jones.
But Jeff, who negotiated Nicole's X Factor deal, said: "Simon Cowell always wanted her as a judge. There was never a question that she wouldn't get it.
"I had long discussions with Simon about her judging the US show and she was always a front-runner for that job.
"Cheryl's name never came into it. Cheryl was just being used as a cog in the wheel to cause hype and publicise the show. Nicole was never supposed to be a host."
Jeff managed Nicole, 32, for 13 years but was dropped weeks before she signed her contract with the show.
He said the fact Cheryl's mysterious sacking was never fully explained made him suspicious.
He told Heat magazine: "I think Cheryl's accent never came into it - it was an excuse. Americans are used to all sorts of accents."
An X Factor spokesperson dismissed the claims as "complete and utter rubbish".

Does he really look like a fool though or just a hardcore, ruthless businessman?
I don't think cheryl is as important in inner circles as the media try to make her out to be to us. She's just another worker sacked as far as people are concerned. she wouldn't be the first one. so she should get over herself and people should get over her too.
if willy I am makes of her what he's made of fergie (auto tune goddess) maybe she has a chance. (NOT)

If people don't know Nicole Scherzinger by name, they'd still probably figure out who she is if you said "the singer in the Pussycat Dolls" - they won several awards, both their albums were top 5 hits in the US, they had four top 10 hits in the US... She might not be an A-Lister but people still know who she is.
