I'll probably watch the finals but the auditions seem to drag, especially with the absurd length of adverts on ITV these days!

LOL No.
It's just another silly ******ing American show that they stole from us, got it into their heads that the rest of the UK wants to see how awesome and amazing they are - so they air it on a silly channel over here - when no one gives a ******.
Yet they won't air Britain's Got Talent, Original X Factor, Big Brother UK, I'm A Celebrity UK - over there ; but are more than happy to take them and shove their versions down our throats.
Why don't they show our versions over there you ask?
Because they know our versions is 10 times better but don't want to loose ratings in the US versions.
I haven't had a rant towards America in about 8 Months - that felt good.

No I think the way these 'talent' shows are taking over is horrible. Hate all of them really, will not be watching it. And the fact its american makes me even more reluctant. Can only about just stand the UK X-factor.

well its British devised but was actually first produced for airing in America. Presumably for scheduling reasons.

Not stolen but purchased. It brings a lot.. i mean a LOT of cash money into the UK television and entertainment world.
Having said that, yes, it does seem like nearly everything on US television is the USA version of ___ Burnett or Cowell or ___ some British program.
Then again, wasn't Big Brother Dutch? Wasn't 'Survivor' originally Dutch too.. or what was it.. 'Modern Swiss Family'??
As a rule the UK versions really are better. BB UK is just a whole entire level beyond the US ones.
BGT has been much better.... however.... i have to say it... I think AGT has been better this year!
This season.
Can't explain it but it has been better imo. BGT just kinda went nowhere for me.
They seem to have 'caught their stride' now. Mandel is turning out to be a hit. Piers is great. Really playing up the gimmicks well.
Wanna mention something here:
- One thing I DID love about BGT was that audiences WERE realistic and didn't leap from seats in tears at every slight 'journey' or high note. This is what makes a Susan Boyle or a Paul Potts genuine feel-good moments.
- One thing I hated about AGT was the over-the-top smarmy buttering of nearly EVERY act... the heart-wrenching backstories need only be a single mother or 'unpopular in school' to turn the USA audiences into a weeping mess,
THEN,
the contestant only needed to sing (or dance or play) semi-decent for less than 5 seconds before THE AUDIENCE ROARS AND CRIES LEAPING TO THEIR FEET IN TEARS ALMOST FAINTING AT THE LITTLE NOBODY WHO WON THE HEARTS OF AMERIC....
...FFS just calm down America. Really.
But there is the thing now:
BGT Audiences are the ones doing that at every act now.
- American audiences are now getting a bit more savvy and real.
So AGT just might be the top man this year.
*in fairness I've already seen the first 2 or 3 or whatever episodes. So no spoilers.
Paper Cup Man FTW!

Saw an advert, looks alright.
Not with the Wicked Witch of the West on, no. I will be watching X Factor USA - is this on ITV2?

Britain's Got Talent was scheduled first with Paul O' Grady as host. However, because he fell out with ITV and minced off to C4, it had to be rescheduled and so the US one was seen first.
