Wii U 'is 50% more powerful than PlayStation 3'
The Wii U will be over 50% more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, according to a report.
Developers have said that Nintendo's new console would be significantly more powerful than current generation systems.
"Some of the developers we spoke to indicated to us that the console will have 50% more processing power compared to the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360," Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia told Industry Gamers.
It was added that such claims on the Wii U from developers has "yet to be confirmed by Nintendo".
Titles such as Batman: Arkham City and Metro: Last Light, which will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, have been confirmed for the Wii U.
Wii U's technical specifications were released shortly after its E3 announcement, confirming full HD capability and custom-made Blu-ray discs.
The Wii U will be available worldwide in 2012.
Intriguing. I didn't know that they were using Blu-Ray.

Most people wont care, it looks too much like a little add on for the Wii to sell enough, when they discover the price too, they'll be like

I hope it doesnt have all the glitches that the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 games had though due to rushing them out.

I've heard around £250, if so that's nearly the same as PS3/360. I think this one will be a lot more accessible for real games. The controller is a step in the right direction in comparison with the Wiimote and it looks like they are promoting the classic controllers over it as well. The 3rd Party support is impressive, I just hope they manage to keep hold of it this time.

Yeah I'm sure.
Nintendo is a company devoted to little girls and young gays - not real gamers.

Yeah and that won't be until 2014 so...
We are talking strictly processing power here in which case the article is still dubious. But it's the 21st century and the thing is still using flash memory, for christ sake. A hard drive will impact everything.
A processor relies heavily on all the other components. Who knows how much of that processor is devoted simply to bouncing the picture back and forth from the screen thingy to the TV.

Is PSVita out yet? I'm watch reviews of that - and see what the games are like for it.
If they released Heavy Rain for it then I'ma buy it, but then again the 360 couldn't handle HR so I doubt it.
My Brother is like a bint so he's getting the Wii U - so I'ma get get this Vita thing, but I bet once we all buy it, Sony will reveal a Portable Xbox or something that I could of spent my money on.

Nope its not coming out till December I think but the thing is crazy powerful. I saw some videos of people playing Little Big Planet on the thing and it look so fun! :amazed:
Heavy Rain was absolutely fantastic but I don't think they'd release a portable version. The Vita may be able to handle it though.

Actually the new controller doesn't have much in the way of motion controls I don't think. It's all about the second screen.
