View Full Version : Is there anything that you cannot watch ?

I can handle most things shown on TV, in movies etc and the gorier, the better - from really sick movies to documentaries on operations etc....not a lot really turns my stomach or makes me want to heave.

The one thing I can't watch is anything done on the eyes - whether watching laser eye surgery and the worse gross out, is eye operations. It's probably the only thing that I simply can't handle and has me squealing, turning away, hiding behind cushions etc.

What's your limit?

I sat through that Sri Lankan documentary last night and thats pretty much the most horrific thing that you can ever show on tv.

I can't watch much tbh, any type of operations (though eyes are the worst, I hate anything to do with eyes, I couldn't watch that popeye guy on BGT) any torture scenes in films, I couldn't look at Samara in the ring either

I know it's nature but I hate watching any animals killed, I once watched a wildlife programme and an Impala was caught by Lionesses but the Impala was ill fated to be used to train cubs how to kill,it was alive what seemed ages and bleeding all over but the Lionesses wouldn't kill it until the cubs had gained some killing experience.

I've never forgot seeing that and cannot watch wildlife programmes at all if there are kills involved.

Mmm....you know...that's one that I watch, but do feel so sorry for the animal being ripped apart whilst it's still living. Uncomfy to say the least.

Actually, you've hit something else for me: watching those undercover documentaries that highlight animal abuse: some of them I can't watch when you see the state and horrors that the poor defenceless animals have to endure at the hands of humans. Yep, that's def another one.
(so much for my strong stomach).

I can't watch operations usually, but sometimes I can stomach them like Bizarre E.R but I think its cause it makes light of them though.

Long story short though, I think its gore that I cannot watch usually but the odd time I can take it.

Can watch most films (apart from torture stuff), but if it's real, I stay away from it. Don't like medical shows and stuff like that.

In the same way that people find enjoyment in eating raw fish - it's not everyone's cup of tea!

I think perhaps it's easy to watch because Saw/Hostal are movies and not real life -(although in the case of Hostal, I happen to believe there most likely will be some underground really sick sods who get a kick of that type of thing in real life - would help explain the thousands of people who disappear off the face of the earth, never to be seen or heard of again).

I think I can bare anything really but generally done like eye stuff like you (Saw 4 with the rapist :o), people being sick and animals being killed :(

I like the Saw films as mentioned and a few similar horrors like that, not Hostel though and I wouldnt even bother with A Serbian Film or anything like that :/// Too far!

Animals being tortured.

That's the only thing I've come across that I physically can't watch.

I've just seen that, it was horrific, it was worse than any film that I've seen, it just got worse as it went on as well

I cant cope with operation things (e.g extreme makeover/greys anatomy esque) makes me wretch.
I tend to avoid goreish things anyway I just generally don't like it.
