IF you use it...
Me = 58 atm. :D
I only have people I actually care to stay in contact with. I don't really get the mentality of adding people you might have said like one word to a year ago. =/

Omg earier this year I vowed I wanted to stay at 369 friends (cos of The Clapping Song) and every new person I added, I'd delete someone I didn't like.
But eventually I forgot.

Haha omg that's brilliant. I'm gonna do that when I reach 666. There's at least 100 people I'd happily delete and no one would even know. Including sluts, pets & random people from my school.

Went through mine a few weeks ago and deleted the people I wouldn't say hello to if I saw them, I've now got 354, but I'd consider less than 30 of them actual friends

When I had it 300 odd although I hated around 260 of them
Currently 507 but I keep deleting people as and when they pop up on my news feed if I don't talk to them/know them well, I've become ruthless with the Facebook deletes. I wouldn't share my plans for the evening with all of those people so why give all those people that kind of access to my life?

Only five. But they are all people I know and are friends in real life, not a bunch of random strangers.

About 380
I speak to about 4 of them on a regular basis. Most of them are people from my school/old school. Just there incase I would ever feel the need for a quick hello.

My word, the last time I'd logged on here was Wednesday! :o
And, I have 947 friends. :)
I don't get Facebook, to be honest. It says you have 945 friends, then, even when you haven't added anyone, it says you have 951 friends. Their system is really ****ed up.

To be honest, I hate when people just do "random add lol" because they think you're fit/want more friends.
If they want loads of friends, may as well get Twitter. That's where you're meant to have loads of followers.

FB Friends being what exactly....... people you click 'accept' - know very little or nothing about them, interact with very few of them, most you are never likely to meet, will probably never socialise in real life with, will never know them on any real personal level.
Someone please explain where the correlation between the above and a 'friend' is. :conf:

Who mentioned friends? Everyone knows the score with Facebook friends and that's clearly what the topic asks. Facebook friends. It's right there in the topic title.
Also ... Harry doesn't use Facebook.

people seem to get the impression that people add everyone and anyone on Facebook - I personally only add people I've met (although to be fair, I don't know why I add people I've met like twice) and...well TiBBers LOL. But that way I can be nosy and see what pages Stu likes :D
Make excuses all you want but clearly you are one of these so called 'Facebook users' who have been relegated to the sidelines as a mere humanoid now incapable of real world social interactions. In three years you won't be able to speak and you will have to use a keyboard wherever you go not knowing the difference between real friends and people on the internet HAHAHA.

Back off right now ..... READ the subject title - you know...that one that you yourself mentioned in your post.
Now, go read my post again........ and try to understand why I asked what I did.
Also: Did I SAY that Harry used facebook? Oh look...no I didn't.
I'll say this right at the start of the evening. Don't start trying to pick a fight or argument with me over anything I'm posting.
If you don't like my posts, if you can't handle me posting without you trying to start an argumkent : either put me on ignore - or take it to PM and off the main board.

I'm looking at the title thread right now and it's asking how many Facebook friends I have. Nobody living in the real world confuses Facebook friends they have never met or rarely see with real friendships. I simply felt that you pointing out the discrepancy between the two sets of friends was unnecessary, that's all. Nobody is under any illusions and this thread is not asking how many real, honest to god friends you have in your day to day life.
It was a relatively ordinary post that you jumped on with hysterical ferocity as if it was a grenade about to blow. The Harry bit was totally unrelated to your post. A harmless quip playing on Harry's well known hatred of the popular social networking platform that again you could have ignored or asked what it was about politely but instead opted to jump on with all the sane headed composure of a Batman villain holding up a bank.

No I'm fine here, thanks. You could have sent me a PM to begin with had you any interest in practicing what you preach. My post is on topic as I am defending my original post. Stop telling people to take it to PM whenever it doesn't suit you to get seen having argukents in open forums. If you want to use PM then use it. I don't.

Yeah I've thought that, some seem to have this impression that people must just add any random person to boost their friend count but the vast majority dont do that. Obviously it's a lot more likely that a Facebook friend won't be a full fledged friend but then it's a completely different criteria

I belong to an expats one..... and thruogh that, people who have moved all over the world that I was very pally with and vice versa, have caught up again with each other - but given the distances: the chances of us ever really meeting up again are about nil. They are old friends though - I mean in the real life context of 'friends'.
I just find the whole concept of hundreds of FB 'friends' bizarre....!
