Right, so I'm going on a trip with my Dad, somewhere in UK. But we don't know where to go. I was thinking Forest Of Dean. But we've been to the west before, Stratford and all that. Where is good to go in UK? I'd actually go to Scotland again cos it was ace, but it's a right trek :/
Depends what sort of trip and what you enjoy doing i suppose

There's a lot to see in the Borders district if you don't want the full trek past Stirling/Edinburgh and beyond.
If you're up for a longer trek: Perthshire, trossachs, have lots to offer and at this time of year, the scenery is simply breathtaking.
Places like Inverurie - smashing little hotel is a great base and is very reasonable (does 'aprtments' at good value)
http://www.thegeorgehotel.co.uk/
Fife coastal routes are lovely too: smashing little fishing villages and neuks.
Crinan Canal route / island of Seil etc http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/seil/seil/index.html
Really depend what you're looking for.

Okay...so you're about a good 4 hours from the cental belt..... where I've mentioned varies approx about 6/7 hours away (roughly).
The Ayrshire coast has lots to offer.... and some splendid castles along the way too.... if you go near Ayrshire: you HAVE to experience the Electric Brae. Phenomenon that makes it look as though you're car is facing down a hill....but gravity pulls it up the hill........ whilst it's neutral !!! :)

Fowey is gorg....as is Mevagissey too. St Austell...mmmm...... not so sure.
Mousehole, and Marazion (sp?) are lovely places too..... spent a week in a fab self catering across from St Michaels mount a few summers ago, weather was to die for.
Chapel Porth and the beaches in that area are on par with any other spectaular beaches in the Caribbean.

Yeah Pyr Los Americanos often use the 'e' but its not their fault. Think Bushmills.
Scottish whisky or Irish Whiskey.
According to Wiki (thats whisky without the h and s)
Whiskey or whisky is an anglicization of a Goidelic name (Irish: uisce beatha and Scottish Gaelic: uisge beatha) literally meaning "water of life". Earlier anglicizations include usquebaugh, usquebea (1706) and iskie bae (1583).
First written records of its production actually come from Ireland, so maybe they have the right to insist on it being spelled with an 'e'.

Cornwall would you believe. Stunning and breathtaking eh!
Can't recall exactly where - something vaguely recollective about nearby to where Shakespearean plays were put on, nearby the cliff edge (honestly can't remember name).
The other picture believe it or not was either in Barbados or Thailand (the latter I'm sure) - some difference eh!
Joey: I took a visitor (from Cornwall) up through Glencoe at the end of November, raining and freezing: we had the car roof down, collars up on the jackets, heater on full at the feet - and I swear, we didn't get wet as long as I kept driving. (different story when we stopped to take piccies though!) :joker: He loved it because you really could take in all of the scenery even such bad conditions.
