View Full Version : Glastonbury 2011
On BBC Three now. Morrissey is on at 9pm on BBC four but they have red button and technically his on at 8 so it will prob be there ... and U2 are on BBC one or two I can't remember at 9:45.
Going to catch as much of it as I can over the weekend. Summer tradition, innit.

I agree although Jay Z did do a killer set a few years ago. Beyonce just takes the piss. She is a mainstream pop artist. I know the crazy farmer that runs it is intent on pushing the festival into the future but don't totally rape it of tradition.
They kicked out the travellers, put up the walls, and brought in Beyonce who is essentially a ***** to marketing.

Yes I agree that having Beyonce there is acceptable, but having an act like her headlining a summer festival? It just isn't supposed to happen. Supposed to be bands with guitars/drums/bassist. They type of acts make a name for themselves through these festivals, Beyonce already get's enough attention through the charts and radio.

Example has complained about the Arctic Monkeys taking his parking space at Glastonbury.
The 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' chart-topper expressed his festival woes on Twitter ahead of his performance on the John Peel Stage later this evening.
"I'm not allowed to park my bus behind the stage I'm playing because the Arctic Monkeys have taken our space. And they're not even playing," the London-born rapper stated.
It's the first report that confirms that the Suck It And See band are in attendance, with online communities and festival-goers speculating that the Sheffield four-piece could be one of the festival's surprise acts.
Other bands rumoured to be unveiled as special guests across the weekend include Pulp and Take That.
Radiohead were confirmed as surprise guests at the festival earlier today, and will take to the Park Stage at 8pm this evening.

Arctic Monkeys could play a surprise set at Glastonbury this weekend, it has been suggested.
The Suck It and See rockers, who arrived at Hop Farm yesterday, could have a secret slot on the Park Stage, Gigwise reports.
A Glastonbury spokesperson refused to confirm or deny the rumours, while the band's record label Domino was unavailable for comment, intensifying the claims that the 'Brick By Brick' singers will put in a peformance.
Yesterday, Example took to Twitter to complain that Alex Turner's mob had "taken our [parking] space". However, he later added: "I'm actually a massive fan of Arctic Monkeys, so that's reduced my anger."
Two weeks ago, Arctic Monkeys scored their fourth consecutive number one album, as Suck It and See made them only the second group in history to debut atop the charts four times in a row.

I find it hard to believe that kid wasn't a plant. It was still awesome though. And I like pop artists who have a very live, organic sound. She looks like she's up for a laugh too. Why have they cut away again? I was enjoying that. I never took much notice of them but I've been meaning to check out the new Flood produced stuff.

Andre 3000 is also working on a solo rap album, as well. It is rumored to feature him primarily rapping, as opposed to singing like he did on The Love Below and Idlewild. It's rumored to be released in at some point in 2012. Big Boi also said he'll be releasing a new solo album, titled Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader, to be released late 2011 or early 2012.
Big Boi has stated that once Andre 3000 releases his solo album, a new OutKast album will be released. He has said that work has already begun on it, with most of the beats already being produced and some songs featuring lyrical content already.
