Hello and welcome to the TiBB Photography Competition 2011! If you haven't followed a photography competition before the idea is pretty simple; every week you are given a theme and then you have to take a photo that shows your interpretation of the theme. Every week members and judges will rate the photos in order of preference, and the contestant with the least amount of points will leave the competition.

- You are not allowed to copy images off of the internet and pass it off as your own - I can track down the original image source and instantly know if you've done so.
- They must be taken by you, you are allowed to recieve advice from others but they themselves are not allowed to take the picture.
- Photos entered after the deadline won't be accepted.
- It can be a existing photo that you have taken, but preferably a newer one would be better.
- You can't show other people your photo before it is posted.

Rules On Editing
You ARE allowed to:
- Resize
- Crop
- Change the image to black & white or sepia, not a mixture of the two or any other color.
- Change the brightness/contrast

You are NOT allowed to:
- Use lighting effects
- Blurring
- Sharpen
- Use effects such as Overlay, Lighten, Screen etc. on any picture.
- No text, or borders.
- No effects such as changing the exposure, selective colour etc.

The contestants have been revealed above - well done to you guys, and thanks for applying!

This year there are 4 judges: CharlieO, Niamh, Patrick and ukturtle. They will rate each photo out of 20, giving points to these 3 aspects of the photo:

- Originality 5 points available
- Sticking to the theme 5 points available
- Overall quality of the photo 10 points available

The ratings the judges give will be 50% of the final vote. The other 50% will be from the forum members, who will rank the photos in order. Contestants aren't allowed to vote.

Every Saturday evening, the photos will be posted and the judges/forum members will have until Sunday evening to vote.

Themes will be posted in this thread. Contestants and forum members can chat in this thread about ideas, although please refrain from posting your photo on the forum.

Theme 1
The first theme of the competition is Joy. Contestants have until 6pm on July 9th to send in the photos. Photos must be sent in by a PM to me. Try and be as original as possible, think outside of the box.

Congratulations everyone who survived the last round! After round 1, Conor and Iceman have 1/2 warnings. If either of them get one more, they will be removed from the competition.

This week there will be a couple of changes. As I'm sure everyone wants to see more photos, this week there will be 2 themes for you guys to work on - meaning you will be sending me 2 photos each week (one for Theme A, one for Theme B). Your themes for this week are as follows:

But on a serious not I have passion sorted just got to pick which picture is best, and building I have 2 ideas. 1 of them would be amazing for a more spooky theme so I might do a day version just incase that sort of theme crops up :amazed:

Hi. I'm really sorry I haven't been here for the comp but I had to fly out of the UK for a few weeks due to the death of a close family member, which meant I didn't have internet access and also didn't feel like taking part. Just got back. Some of the entries from the past few weeks look great :)
