Why do people, especially the elderly (and moreso a few years ago) just hold seatbelts around them? They literally hold the thing an inch from the plug-inny bit but prefer to "Just hold it round me"
Yes, this is Peter Kay stand up inspired but so true.
It's an inch from the socket - PLUG IT IN!!!!! :joker:

Is it illegal to not wear one in a black cab? I rarely do

just thought why is it that people very rarely wear seatbelts on buses?
Shaun

probably because of scare-stories about people trapped in burning cars by their bent seatbelts.

We get multiculoured and red ones (I kid not). The big Hackney cabs. I thought everywhere had Hackney cabs

Unless they're one of those smaller buses, they have them sometimes

Not been on a bus in years but they didn't and I'm pretty sure still don't have seatbelts. Coaches do though

:joker: My Grandmother always did that, would never fasten it completely, when told she had to have the seat belt on in a car in case the police were about, she said ''well, I've got it held around me, they cannot see its not fastened''. No way would she ever fasten it.:joker:

I don't get why you don't have to have seat belts on buses, you are still travelling and if that bus overturned or was in a pile up, you would have no chance, you would be thrown all over the bus left, right and centre, you are sometimes anyway depending on the driver.
It's probably down to the cost of fitting seatbelts for all on the buses though.
