Why can't TiBB be more like this (http://www.bigbrothersite.co.uk/)?

That's fantastic - maybe that's too 'hard' to pull of, so what about this (http://www.bbspy.co.uk/) simple yet awesome looking BB Site?

I mean honestly - TiBB probably gets more hits than any of those 2 Sites, yet we look like we've been made by an 11 Year old using Windows 98 - and those sites are eye popping.

Surely if the site wants to attract more members this Summer to stop us from dieing out - it's time for a revamp and reboot on the forum home page? Which is what new members see first anyway!

And I don't just mean the home, I'm talking fixing up the whole forum that we post in.

Also the gallery - I mean, that still has the BB10 Housemates on it!


James and Mods infract and ban us over swearing or arguing because it 'cheapens' the forums, or if we disagree with Newbies it's all 'See that will scare New FMs Away!'

Point being the forum needs something done about it with BB returning - and I expect this thread will be locked, but if it is that will be a complete joke considering this thread isn't being aggressive or insulting, It's me speaking on behalf of alot of members who feel the same.

I [and tons of others] care about the site - so it's embarrassing to see other little fan sites like the ones I posted, looking far more impressive than ours.

And if by some chance James happens to comment on this thread with 'We'll look into it' or something like that - when will that be exactly?

Jordan made a point earlier, CBB isn't that far away now - let alone all the news that will soon be on the DS which will bring more attention to the BB Forums, you'd want to get the please scrubbed up for then, surely?

I think we should do a little general election thing, and promote 2 or 3 Mods to Admin.

And we need at least 1 that knows how to work V Bulletin or Admin CP.

Because it seems our wishes and ideas for the site, are either ignored, put down to bad manners or simply responded with 'k i'll do it tomorrow' by an Admin.

No offence to James + the other admins but the home page is a tragedy. Despite the graphics/layout from the stone age all the links are out dated, you click 'polls' and are bombarded with BB10 housemates and questions about Miss Frank.

Surely if all these unknown BB sites can look amazing this place can do wonders.

+ Agreed about a new admin, we need someone who knows how to re-design websites and is active.

The forum homepage isnt as bad as the actual site's homepage, that's outdate and looks pretty tacky and unprofessional, it's still just got the BB11 pics at the top & doesnt even have all the housemates there anyway & the first poll you see is asking who your favourite contestant is out of the three X Factor finalists.

Nothing too elaborate needs to be done to it, it'd be fine if it was pretty basic as long as everything wasnt kinda all over the place like it is atm

The TiBB homepage looks like it hasn't been updated since BB10 launched at a quick glance. IIRC I think part of the reason some of the new mods were picked was because of how helpful and active they were in the articles section. As you can see...we dont just expect members to do them either, james does quite a few himself.

Maybe for just this year, the whole 'Time to add 3 Lucky people onto the Mod List' should be scrapped and replaced with promoting 2 Mods, plus 1 Member like Matt - onto the Admin list.

There are sub-forums where threads that are posted appear on the main site under a number of categories and anyone can post there. The post will appear after approval though we can give a special status that lets you post there without needing approval.

We would be looking for bb12 news, ex hm news, news about other reality shows. I have been thinking maybe we could incentivise this somehow instead of just relying on people 'helping out'. Need to think about that.

I really like your design Ryan, but agree with Shaun that the size and blocking of the type could do with some tweaking, but I think the site could do with something like that. I like your ideas too Samuel.

With all respect, the homepage looks very outdated and could do with a serious overhaul. It's not very eye catching (excuse pun) and should be interesting, not only in content, but also in the layout, as I am sure a lot of new members will be drawn to the news page first. They will want to find what they are looking for straight away, and navigation should be easy. There are other sites out there who have more appealing home pages.

Outdated polls and such like that have no meaning any more should be removed also as they make it seem as it has not been updated for a long time with obsolete information on there, and we are now only a couple of weeks away from the new series.

Ryan. that is stunning - looks so professional. The homepage would look a million times better with that design, font is a little too big for my liking but other than that it's brilliant. I really think admin should look into implementing your design as the homepage, I can't imagine it being too difficult to change it and the one we have now is horrid. It's been the same since I joined the forum and it hasn't grew on me at all over the years, hence why I rarely visit the main site.

I done a quick couple of designs a while back too, but if i'm remembering correctly then the front page is a cms addition to vbulletin so its kinda limited in design and layout and to get it looking like any of the designs posted here would take quite a bit of time/effort, if it was wp that was used for the main page or even just a webpage then it would be a whole lot easier to work with design wise but not for actual news articles and stuff from the forum.

This was one I done last year so the font colours etc could be changed and the main banner could be changed with each new series.

The lorem ipsum writing is just filler text.

To be honest, if I was visiting the site for the first time, and I arrived at the homepage from a quick search, I wouldn't be impressed as it looked like it hadn't been updated in a long while until very recently. The eye logo should have been on there a while ago etc. Do the powers that be not think is needs a kick up the backside or are they not particularly bothered? Attitudes towards the home page seem to have been quite laxidasical for quite a while in terms of layout and content in my opinion.
