Falling Skies opens in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial linvasion, the few remaining survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back. Each day is a test of survival as citizen soldiers work to protect the people in their care while also engaging in an insurgency campaign against the occupying alien force, whose nature and purpose remains a mystery.

At the centre of Falling Skies is Tom Mason (Noah Wyle, ER), a Boston history professor whose family has been torn apart. His wife was killed shortly after the initial attack and one of his three sons has been taken captive by the aliens for some unknown purpose. Tom must now put his extensive knowledge of military history to the test as second in command of the 2nd Massachusetts, a regiment of resistance fighters protecting a large group of civilian survivors. They are constantly trying to gain intelligence about the aliens in order to one day outsmart and overtake them and hopefully rebuild their lives.

Falling Skies is a tale of endurance, commitment and courage in which everyday people are called upon to become heroes. The series focuses on the resilience of the survivors and their determination to maintain their humanity when all else has been destroyed. It also explores the ties that bind people together in the most difficult of circumstances, as well as the potential for humans to turn on eachother when the struggle to survive threatens to give way to desperation. The survivors may be outmatched, outnumbered and outgunned, but nothing can beat the human spirit.

Im excited about Falling Skies because I think it will just get better and better,plus Steven Spielberg is behind it.

I've seen the first two episodes online. It's alright, but it hasn't gripped me quite yet. Reviews are pretty mixed. One thing that annoys me is some of the decisions made by the characters are just plain dumb. You'll see what I mean when you see them.

I'm about half way through the first ep, it's not bad so far. I felt there were too many characters introduced too soon at the start, but now it's just focused on a few it's a lot better. Also they alien thing on the back is very creepy.

Maybe a 6 or a 5. I don't think it is nearly as good as the walking dead. But it's enjoyable, the aliens look good in it, and the cast aren't bad.

Anyway I'm hoping it'll get better.

Episode 6 has been the best episode so far IMO.

It was quicker pace,Ben seems like an intresting character and I liked the twist at the end of the episode,even if I saw it coming.:joker:

I have caught up with the UK now. It is quite good but some parts of it are so stupid and annoying.

On the run from a small army, hide out in a house and let the doctors daughter make all kinds of noise by playing the piano. And then later on let her sing at Mike's funeral.

The main characters son hasn't mentioned his girlfriend since she was taken by the skitters about 6 episodes ago.

And they wasted about 5 minutes of screen time for characters that actually matter to show some random pregnant woman talk about her baby then find out it wouldn't be an easy birth.

Porter is a good character though, and Captain Dan.

I think someone said further back in the thread that they make some stupid decisions , I agree with that, some of the things they do leave me thinking wtf!

My favourite characters so far are Weaver & Margaret, I kinda like Pope atm but my opinion of him keeps changing.

I'm not sure why they are so close, I think Anne's kid either got snatched or killed at the first invasion.

The last episode is really good

The last scene is really poor though :joker: As if they wouldn't have noticed a giant spaceship about 10 meters above them, and the alien that came out looked like something from a 1995 playstation 1 game.

The story is going well though, season 2 should be good as long as they don't concentrate 90% of the story on Tom in the spaceship.

I've watched it and it was probably my favourite episode in the whole shows run, I like the fact that The Skitters was shown more and also it seems like it's going to be more darker and action orientated this season so it should be good stuff.
