View Full Version : variety of ages of forum members

was just wondering, being an oldie myself, what the actual age range of members is on here. I love this forum and interacting with members of all ages and backgrounds. Tibb is always lively and fun, although I can't get on as often as I would like as I don't currently have Internet access at home. I like the variety of different forums available and listening to all the different viewpoints, taking part in polls and games etc. The forum does seem to be predominantly made up of teens to twenties, but surely there's also quite a few over thirties, and even forties?!?! I am a single mum, my son is 14, and he keeps me very young at heart.

Would be interested to hear thoughts on this, as members ages are often not apparent.

I'm 19, but I consider age irrelevant, all people have something to say and we can all learn a great deal too from each other.
I am equally at home with kids, my fellow students, all the age ranges of my family and also with people of any age upwards.
People are so interesting no matter what age they are.

Thanks for your kind words there rhino, one of the wisest,I doubt that very much, I've seen and learned a lot already in life but I can assure you the people around me who know me would say I was anything but wise.I can be seen as a bir of a fuddy duddy but I have my wild side too.:joker:

I guess having 3 much older Brothers, one 10 years older than I am and the others 12 years older and the oldest 14 years older, has made me maybe grow up a little bit more faster in my thinking.

I just love people though and have a great interest in what they say and what makes them feel that way too.

yes Joey, thats just my point, age doesn't change the person you are, unless people choose to use it as a predjudice against you. I'm not that different from you, I'm guessing in that I'm interested in people and even though I may not agree with their opinions, I understand why they feel that way. I joined tibb just for the BB chat, as I am the only person I know in real life who likes BB, so had nobody to discuss it with. But I have stuck around because I am interested in the topics and members opinions, even though I don't always join in as much as I could. I'm 19. I'm not sure if I come across as immature or mature for my age. :S

I'm 16. In a way, I wish I was a bit older, probably just so I can go to the pub and get pished.

16 :( but id consider myself mature for my age. Not that I think it comes across in posts but in life I think I am. I guess you guys are all the judges of that.

Hello wee yin !! How are you doing? :wavey:

How does it feel to be back on English shores?

Like all of us I'm sure, you can be a mixture of daft and sensible: which is the right way to be.

I was 12 when I signed up too, don't think there used to be an age restriction.

I thought turning 31 was worse for some reason:conf:

35, me. Here's the most depressing thing that happened to me this year. Got a phonecall from one of those research companies and as the house was relatively calm and work was under control, I said, "sure, belt away" - feeling all compassionate like, I mean, they've got to fill out some of those blasted forms, right?
So he gets the first few preliminary questions out of the way and then comes "can I ask how old you are?"
"35"
"Oh, ermm, sorry about this but the demographic we're targetting are the 18 to 34 age group. Thanks anyway! Byyyeee!!!!!

Apparently, Kerry, am now in the 35-60 demographic for Market Research purposes. Thing is, my gob was so smacked that I genuinely didn't have time to catch my breath (and read him the riot act) before he hung up. Lostalex? How are my wrists looking.................
