Okay guys Im not going to believe there is no live feed until the Big Brother Channel 5 or Official BB Facebook says it isn't happening, in the past Digital Spy has been In accurate and I honestly couldn't see Channel 5 giving it a miss after the flack Channel 4 got for it for not doing it.
But thats just my opinion……

Let's face it, the morons at C5/Endemol have killed the series off already...
We won't be getting 24/7 live feed, I'd bet my house and car on it.

Have you somehow developed the ability to travel forward in time and seen this?
I love how people can criticize the show without seeing a second of it

I did travel in time... but anyway, I do feel they have killed it off, I am reserving judgement but without 24/7 live feed (I don't believe we will get it and the 'rumours' have confirmed this)
But we'll see.

Guys just to clarify. The news didn't originally come from Digital Spy.
It came from a very reliable media site.
As sad as it is, the live feed is no more!

Yes...
That article NEVER said anything about a live feed. It only mentioned clips and the ability for syndication of said clips.
Notice it says MAY contain 24-hour streaming.

source or more info on this?

Fiver was renamed roughly two months before the Big Brother announcement was made, at a stage where there was still uncertainty over whether it was a done deal or not. '5er' being a crap name is most likely the real reason for the change.

I Dont need a source, im simply saying that in an interview i read somewhere (cant remember where before you ask.) that desmond said that he was going to change 'Fiver' to fit around big brother, i think he either mean sits goign to become a near 24 Hour BB Live Feed channel or a Place where you watch repeated highlight episodes or BBLB, but i think because Channel 5 is crap (no offense) there obviously going to show BBLB after OK! TV and they have nothing else on in the daytime except pointless movies about war (again, no offense.) so what are they possibly going to show, more and more highlights of the main show, repeated eps of BBLB, im not sure, i think that well have maybe Morning Live feeds, and afternoon ones, but not in the nighttime, thats a hunch though. i mean Big Brother is the BIGGEST thing which has ever happened to Channel 5 (yes, bigger than CSI) and its going to be the main show, Channel 5 are going to flaunt BB to its extent, so i expect 5* will become a Live Feed channel followed by Channel 5 the home of BB Main Show and BBLB, this isnt Confirmed its just my opinion i honestly do not think that theyd be so stupid as to get rid of the live feed, when this is the highly anticipated TV Comeback of the decade. as i said Big Brother is MASSIVE to Channel 5 its now there main show, there going to show it on every channel. E4 did before it got How I Met Your Mother etc... before when E4 was unheard of it was the main home for the BB LF, im saying 5* isnt exactly popular is it? it has less then E4 anyday of the week. JUST MY OPINION GUYS DONT HAVE AGO AT ME.

I don't care about a TV stream as I won't be able to watch it anyway as I'm in the Republic.
At least if there was online we could watch it, even if it was through a VPN.

You put a good point accross but i dont think in light of yesterdays news you are going to win cos it looks like a done deal.Channel4 didnt care and it dont look like Channel 5 do.It would take months to set up live feed on tv as well.Sorry i dont know much about facebook dont really use it,how would live feed be possible through it facebook apps?

lets face it, putting out "Live Feed Axed" by whoever and no response from C5 let alone any clue to what is happening at all seems like they are running round like headless chickens ATM  I suppose C5 have settled for the C4 viewing figures without LF as acceptable to them. Big mistake. Wish they would at least try it

I know it can be done, but what I don't understand is if they can show LF through Facebook, why can't they put it on a standalone site?
It's basically the same thing, but with Facebook being written on the top of the page.
A lot of people don't have Facebook, or maybe they're just catering for the target audience of 14-20 year olds (admittedly I am one of them) and will try to get them to pay using these "Facebook credits"

I would rather it being in an iPhone or blackberry app rather than facebook

Yeah, though this would cost more money again, I could see them providing short clips through smartphone apps, but don't get your hopes up for a Blackberry app. Any apps they bring out will be just iPhone and Android, the smartphones the "target-market" mainly use. (i.e. 14-20 year olds)
Basically a Facebook app is a website page in a Facebook page.
So if they had live streaming through Facebook it would be easy to put it on a standalone site so I don't see the sense in this.

I just hope that means this years Big Brother won't be aimed at 14-20 year olds

Channel 5′s digital director, James Tatam has told NewMediaAge that Channel 5 Big Brother live feed will not be returning to the channel or online for this years CBB or BB.
Channel 5 are working with Facebook, Endemol and a mobile developer to make a facebook app for the show which allows online voting for the contestants via Facebook credits.
In addition to the Facebook voting, the live feed has been pushed aside to make room for other social media opportunities. The show will feature real-time news and video updates from the house as well as video highlights.
He said the following : “We want a lot of the content to be on Facebook. Putting real-time news and video updates alongside the ability to vote should be really powerful”.
Facebook will not be the only integration and voting platform. Channel 5 will be launching smartphone apps and possibly looking to expand on what can be done on YouTube.
He stated : “We want to use the capabilities of the smartphone platforms we’ll be on, so if that includes in-app purchasing we’ll use that,” he also has not ruled out using SMS (text) voting for the show however, there are strict regulations.
“It’s only worth having SMS if there isn’t a better alternative on mobile. We can’t use SMS straight from screen because the regulators don’t permit it, there have been too many problems with latency and lag. So we’d only use it to purchase SMS voting bundles that enable real-time votes via mobile or online apps.”
He wants to bring the most social media integration to the show as is possible as he believes “It has become clear over the last year that social media sits side by side with watching TV, more so than traditional websites ever have.”
Channel 5 will be announcing more on this during this month with press releases on the way soon enough.

Seems like they don't want to gamble, and they want to see how it pans out. Also, they want to save money and want to make a good profit.

Why dont they lower the Big Brother prize money and also dont give too much money to the celebritys and that way they would be able to afford Live Feed!
