I said the same thing a couple of weeks ago and Patrick virtually shouted at me that it was months away yet and I was to be patient. I'm glad someone else feels the same way. :)

Do they actually want people to watch this bloody show!?

I think that they know they're gonna get a hell of a lot more viewers than what they would usually get for any show they've ever done and aren't bothering too much.

I agree. I love sitting down on launch night and not knowing anything!
I don't know what the rush is; look at the biggest show on TV - The X Factor, that leaves announcements to the very last minute and yet plenty of people still watch.
Most shows start promotion from about 3-4 weeks before hand once the TX date is confirmed. No point promoting something where and when you've no idea where viewers can watch it

I really did think we start to get news & tit bits of rumors by now, considering it's launching on a other channel.
But X Factor fans know the X Factor will be on and roughly around what time of year, there are Big Brother fans who dont even know the show has been renewed.
Do they need to know many weeks in advance?
As I said, almost all TV shows follow a 3 week schedule pre-TX and I dont see why Channel 5 won't be the same. There's sod all point advertising a show which has no confirmed start date or time - and even if it did, who - outside core fans, who don't need the ads anyway - is going to remember it?
People don't need to know. Viewers decide "Ohh, I'll watch/record that tomorrow/next week" etc. Very, very few viewers plan their TV viewing months in advance.
The promotion will 99% follow:
TX-3 weeks: "Coming soon"
TX-2 weeks: "10th August" (or whatever date it's launching)
TX-7-10 days: "Next Thursday" (e.g.)
TX-2-6 days: "This Thursday"
TX-1 day: "Tomorrow"

Th earlier they advertise it, the more people who will know about it, thus the more people who will watch.

I think we should be seeing a change come next week, when it hits the month to go mark I'd expect there to be a big marketing campaign with the Presenters and house to be unveiled, lets also not forget they are making use of utilising Social networking media for alot of there publicity this time. I'd expect some Facebook updates will arrive very soon. :)
Happy if they're doing it on purpose, I like the secrecy. Remember it's still 5 weeks of launch though!

They haven't even got the office space in place yet, so I wouldn't hold your breath - and to be honest based on previos years it is still a little bit early for any actual news. Usually by now we'd only have a fake eye and fake houseplan in the Daily Star.
Also worth considering that the reason there is so little news is because there is so little interest in the media.

Rumours from DS;
I have been informed that -
Emma Willis is the new Big Brother presenter.
CBB lasts 23 Days starts - Wednesday 10th August - Friday 2nd September.
Big Brother 12 is 12 weeks long (not 13) - starts Monday 5th September - to Friday 25th November.
Highlights shows will be from 10pm until 11pm each night.
Channel 5 will show BB Live from 11pm to 1am weeknights nights straight after the highlights shows resulting in Supercasino being shown 1 hour later than normal from 1am onwards.
There will be no saturday highlights show. A movie will be shown instead.
Little Brother won't be back - OK TV will report on big brother highlights weekdays during the series runs.
Fiver may show extra BB live during the afternoon hours. Still being discussed apparently.
No official big brother website or 24 hour web stream will be available just a facebook page / app.
No LF or saturday show :(

FAKE Josie is a reporter on BBLB
Is it so inconceivable her roving reporter job will be on oktv instead of bblb?
Hope this is all true exept the LF & no saturday show.
just looked on DS, the person you are referring to has no source apart from a "person that has connections with the show"

Clearly ill informed guess work. Firstly C5 don't show movies on Saturday nights, they show back to back US crime dramas and will need the slot even more with BB taking slots in the week. And secondly Fiver was replaced by 5* back in March.
As for the rest - actually a fixed 10pm slot with streaming straight after (rather than waiting for HMs to go to bed) would work quite nicely, and I've said all along they should forget the spin-offs and concentrate solely on the main show, so using OK! TV for snippets of info instead would be a wise move - as is axing the low rated Saturday show, which largely just recapped the eviction anyway, so BB fans aren't expected to commit to the show every single night for four months. (So considering they're all good moves, I'm guessing this "source" is bollocks!)
Finally no live feed is one thing, but no website at all is completely unbelieveable. Up until it's latter years the Big Brother website was the most popular entertainment site in the UK - so cutting off that potential revenue stream entirely - well even Channel 5 aren't that stupid.

What a load of ****e.
Advertising costs money.
There's no need to advertise yet. What is someone going to do with the information? You don't need 6 weeks advance notification to watch a TV show. You need a week or two at most.
Advertising now would just waste money. People will just forget what it airs by next month.

I've posted the facts before:
In June, Daily Star had circulation of around 700,000 and decreasing (down 12% on year)
And the Sunday edition has less than half at 300,000
http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/section.asp?navcode=161
These are the facts. Figures. Stats.
What you are giving is PR bull**** from Desmound. It doesn't mater how many they print (and FYI that statement is what they plan, not what's currently happening) but how much they sell - which is a miserable 300,000 - despite a current print run of 600,000 or so.

Ok so all im saying is they should be advertising BB coming back on Channel 5 in there and OK! None of these bullsh!t sex den stories but proper advertisments. Like a full double page spread. Somthing a reader cannot miss coz even if they only glance at it they would be aware it was coming back on 5.
Even if its 600,000 thats alot of people to advertise to then its down to word of mouth,
I Cant believe people on here are disagreeing with me by saying this.
Do you want it advertised or not?
BTW That link you gave me? This is what it says.
The Daily Star’s readership neither grew nor shrank in the twelve months to the end of December, as an estimated 1.57m readers looked over each of its issues in the period.
The Daily Star Sunday dropped three per cent to 919,000
And thats from the link you gave me lol
