Kerry Katona has reportedly accepted a £250,000 offer to appear in the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.
The reality TV star's career hit another low last month when she parted company with her management team, Can Associates, and revealed she was on the verge of being made homeless.
Troubled Kerry claimed she had six-figure debts and just £400 in the bank - and it seems that situation motivated her to say yes to the Channel Five show.
A friend of the mum of four's told the People: 'She is totally up for Big Brother, she can't believe her luck.
'This has come at the right time as the money will get her out of a deep hole. She's so skint she can't even get a contract for a mobile phone.'
Channel Five bosses will be hoping Kerry proves value for money by revealing details of her failed marriages and battle with drugs to viewers and fellow housemates during the four-week show.
The former Atomic Kitten star, who is rumoured to have renewed her friendship with ex-boyfriend Adam Waldron, was due to appear on Celebrity Big Brother in 2009, but the deal fell through when she failed pre-show psychiatric tests.

Me personally - she would be a reason I'd not watch - I'd have to be lured in by other celebs. Honestly - as I say - we've seen, heard, and read every possible thing there is to Katona - so for me personally - I'd rather watch and listen to someone I didn't know a lot about.
Big Brother fans will watch no matter who actually goes in there. Thing is we all know about Kerry because of the numerous shows she does and that ITV2 crap that she does. She could do with the money, she'd probably go in

I agree. My point was if it filled with celebs like Katona - I most likely wouldn't - as it would be like Groundhog day.
It would be other celebs that I may not know much about that would draw me in.
Like you say: she needs the money... in fact. No I take that back. How the hell does she need the money. She's been bankrupt for years and still manages designer clothing, holidays abroad on a whim, expensive cars ...... there's money coming from somewhere to allow her to lead a life still that not many ordinary bankruptees(?) can.

I agree, I would prefer other celebrities to go in, perhaps another Jackson? :tongue: or somebody similar to them like somebody who used to be huge in America years ago or something. I personally thought the last CBB was the best ever so they should try to keep with that, use it as a benchmark. However there will always be some random bint we have never heard of or who is only famous for sleeping with somebody famous! :tongue:

If she does go in and Jedward are in, she will likely try to get some recording deal for to do a single with them or something out of it too.

One of the Jackson clan, I'll go with that ! Stephen Baldwin was a good catch too..... mad but almost hard NOT to watch! Some of the older 'big' names who have been on - some of their stories are fascinating to listen to. Oddly enough: it's the ones that you think would be totally stuck up, never muck in - who actually do the opposite.
Have images of Jackie Stallone - total fruitcase but as funny as hell.

Let's be honest with out own personnel opinions aside she's a celebrity - she's always in the papers , is entertaining and worthy of a place on CBB / when we'v had people like "H" from steps and other people we haven't heard from in years it's a breath of fresh air to have someone recent........ This fills me with hope for the people there going for :)

I'd actually like Jack or Ozzy - Ozzy would be funny - Jack, I think we'd see a pretty intelligent, well rounded young man (yes... you read that right).

She was quite liked on DOI lets hope she can turn the bad press further appearing on CBB.. is this confirmed or rumoured?

My thoughts are: when she was on DOI - she initially seemed to be happy that that the public were warming to her again - and quite rightly too as many had become sick of her.
The problem was with DOI - she made it very clear after her first few shows on it that she had no intention of being there for very long: she was totally uncommitted to it: remember, she was more interested in booking her holiday (Majorca) I think - and getting booted off so she could go - rather than being a fully fledged dedicated contestant.
Once again: she blew a golden opportunity when it was being handed to her on a sliver platter. Bearing in mind: that she took a place on DOI - that could have been given to someone else: who would have given far more justice - and who would poss have deserved it far more than her.
This stupid female talks the talk - but doesn't walk the walk. No willpower, no committment. Complete waste of space.

Me too, some people have said some downright cruel things about her but on certain things the criticism has been justified;).
Fair enough if they dislike her but no-one is perfect and we all make mistakes.

Most adults tend to learn from their mistakes: especially when they have the responsibilty of 4 young children to consider.
That's the reason I no longer want her on my TV screen.
(note: 'want' and 'get' being two entirely different things! :bawling:)

I didn't infer she doesn't love her kids (I know you didn't suggest that either). It's abundantly clear that the bond between them all is a fantastic one - it's the only part of her that I actually like.
But her life and the manner in which she runs it; has led to these 4 young kids having different men in and out of her life, being uprooted several times over the past 2 years, having to move to new homes, new people in and out of their lives.
For the woman who says she wants her kids to have the stable life that she never had: she's not really learning much from any of her mistakes.
The kids might not want for anything on a materialistic side: but they are most certainly not experiencing any form of stability in their young lives. Mother on drugs or not.
In fact: it shows that even when she has been 'clean' for over a year: she is still making the same decisions as she was when she was out of her face.
And so it continues.

At least 3 of those 4 would make me NOT want to watch. Truly - I'm being serious.
Amy - haven't given her even vaccuous reading time so in fairness; that's probably a 4th one that would have me looking at something less boring to do.
Obviously there is interest in these people: but for a show like CBB.... it wouldn't be for me.

I dont exactly know what she really been famous for in the last 12 years, she
won IMACGMOH but she left a girl band years ago she has had muliply men.
I really cannot understand what she is doing in the limelight , she not my bag so to speak , she has real issues and whenever she starts getting her life back she drops anothe clanger, perhaps she thinks she can sell more mag deals is she down and out and how the hell can a bankrupt pay £3,500 per month for rented house:conf: which she mentioned on her show, I know I di watch I episode thats hour I cannot get back.:sleep:

Would there be a risk putting her in since she is diagnosed with Bipolar disorder even the smallest thing could set he off into a breakdown add that to isolation and it may be a travesty to have her. Unless ofcourse she is allowed medication and shrinks behind the scenes. :o

KK has no big house - Can Man paid the rent for her previous mansion and I believe that Can TV is picking up the tab for her current residence ..... her husband Mark Croft was the one with a penchant for flashy cars .....

I do see your point here thats true. She probably booked the holiday so if she won she stayed and if she lost she zoomed off to Majorca - win/win. But like you said if youre a contestant you should give it all and concentrate purely on the show..
Maybe if shes up for nomination in CBB8 she'll ask BB to book her another holiday just incase? :laugh:
