Now, I'm not defending Corrie, but for somebody to swear blind that the ratings are falling is completely ludicrous.

A journalist jumped in on this bandwagon and what he did was, he took the current ratings - which are about 8 million, roughly - compared it to a one-off special which went out, highly publicised at 9pm and got 10 million, and said that the Street is slipping in the ratings.

Yes, the quality of the soap is awful at the moment, but, for obvious reasons, the ratings comparison is very unfair.

I would've posted this in the soaps' thread, but me talking about Corrie was just an example of how the press twist stories to get what they want.

I'm a Northerner, and I'll admit that her accent wasn't brilliant, but what is wrong with the public? And this is coming from an EE fan.

The ratings are up 8% year-on-year. Now, I'm not defending any soap, just talking mathematics and statistics.

The press is so hurtful and full of deceit. Do they actually realise that Michelle Collins is doing her best to fit in Corrie? But, of course, the usual moaners come into the picture. :rolleyes:

I havent seen it in ages so I dont even know what shes like in it, just from what Ive read she being made out to be the devil.

I'm a bit urgggh at Corrie atm, but I think Michelle has worked hard, and the press keep putting her down. Wouldn't blame her if she decided to leave (she'd be doing us all a favour, tbh! :D ).

She's actually really good in the show. A refreshing change from Becky behind the bar 24/7
