Because they had HoH and the Veto, so obviously in terms of the game they'll be the center of attention. Hopefully when they are out of power there'll be less Brenchel.

Because they are the most drama going on. And drama in week 1 is rare. Even after tonight none of the new kids had the balls to fight with those who they think jumped ship. I don't think we will get a full on row until the vets turn on each other.

The music and the heavy handed editing didn't help. I do feel sometimes in the American version that it is dumbed down a bit for the viewers and they keep repeating points as if people would be too stupid to remember things.

I think a Newbie should try to influence Jordan (Shelly since she's in the alliance officially and is the only newbie that's actually playing the game right now) to possibly put the thought of putting Brenchel up

BTW Rachel derserves a better man

Jordan would be daft to put Brechel up.

The HGs see Brechel a bigger threat and they prefer JJ, if 1 of them is evicted the target is then on JJ as the next closest alliance/pair. Also if JJ and Brechel are loyal to each other, as theyre good at comps they can get pretty far - JJ will have no alliance and have the remaining half of Brechel after them if Jordan did (Daniele may also not trust them..)

its true. nobody has neutral opinions on rachel. they either loathe her or love her.
CBS seems to agree with me to, why else would they put brendon on this season ? :S rachel makes up for it. and its guarenteed fights with rachie

I like Rachel and can't stand Brendon, so I'm sort of glad that they show him being a jerk (although he still comes off WAY better in the episodes than he deserves).

That being said... they really shouldn't have wasted Episode 4 time on their drama. They didn't explain how the vets won Kalia over at all. Earning Kalia's vote to evict Keith was much more important to show than Rachel calling Brendon "bookie," in my opinion.

they know Rachel is good for the ratings. She's a great houseguest, love her or loathe her. Causes drama, good gameplayer and she's great at the competitions too. I love her :love:

I was actually really annoyed by the editing and use of them for a good 5 minutes on Thursday's show.. was so pathetic.. it wasn't even a proper argument either?

It's the summer. They assume (rightly) most American's are not in front of the TV. The kid's are at summer camp(so not watching), or at home which means parents are having to spend time with their kids(so also not watching tv). They're on vacations. CBS is trying to appeal to casual viewers.

BBUSA is not the phenomenon that BBUK ever was. You have to remember that the whole concept of "sticking people in a house of camera's for 3 months" was not new to Americans when it came out on Big Brother, cause American's had already been watching The Real World since 1991. So Big Brother wasn't anything new for us. The young demographic in the UK that watched BBUK, in America, teens watch The Real World/The Challenge or Jersey Shore, BBUSA is not and never was "cool" like those shows for young adults. CBS is known in the US as the old-people's network. CBS can't compete with MTV or BET and they don't try to. CBS could never be cool.

It's filler. It's at least something new while the other networks are showing re-runs.

US TV during summer is DEATH.

Uhh... BET really isn't popular at all. And the whole RW/RR franchise gets under 2 million viewers (partly since MTV's on cable and CBS is a basic channel), that franchise has been long dead. MTV's trying to milk out Jersey Shore and Teen Mom now cause that's where they're drawing viewers in.

You're missing the point. MTV and BET are still cool, CBS is not and never was and never will be cool.

Obviously CBS get's more views because it's a major network, and you don't need to pay for cable to see it. That doesn't mean it's more popular or relevant though.

MTV is "cool" for preteens who try to be cool and that's about it. At the end of the day, people brush it off as a joke, especially because "music television" doesn't focus on music at all. And BET... I'm not even going to get into BET, but that channel is completely irrelevant.

And that second part makes no sense. MTV/BET get less viewers, yet they're more popular? That's contradictory.
