Welcome to Round 2 of the TiBB Photography Competition 2011! This week the contestants were given two themes - Passion and Buildings. First of all I have to announce, as Conor hasn't sent a photo for the 2nd week running, he unfortunately is out of the competition, and his replacement will be

cuda123

So now that's cleared up, here are everyone's photos!

Theme 1: Passion
http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/6294/photo0196i.jpg

Inspiration: I got this ticket years ago when I was supposed to go see Eminem, back then I wasnt his biggest fan, but as soon as he cancelled it ignited something inside me an I've loved him ever since, he truly is my 1 musical passion.

Theme 2: Buildings
http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/9673/photo0192.jpg

Inspiration: I've twisted the theme to suit my picture for this one. I see the stage as a building. the whole setting of it with the name in lights I found really good, most artists have a back drop with their name on it but a little more effort was put into this one. I think it captured my Day at Oxegen perfectly.

Theme 1: Passion

Name: Welsh Flag
Inspiration: A Weird one but read this! A Country has Passion. A Flag for me has Passion. It shows the passion of the country

Theme 2: Buildings
http://i51.tinypic.com/2hdrv6d.jpg

Name: Harlech Castle
Inspiration: I live in such a beautiful area, and i live near this. I think its an amazing Building as it has been around since the 1400's!

Theme 1: Passion
http://i56.tinypic.com/21awd28.png

Inspiration: The posture of this particular woman out of 3 in the circular statue I found to be most passionate in a sexual way, also helped by her being in the nude. I didn’t clean the statue to show that passion can get old with the collection of dust and cobwebs; trying to show this further by making the picture black and white. However it is still beautiful.

Theme 2: Buildings
http://i56.tinypic.com/16h91dt.jpg

Inspiration: I wanted to try and be more original and took a picture of a building that was simple in design in the form of glasshouses, and increase how interesting it looked. I achieved this by the angle of photo so that the glasshouses started close in the top left corner and distanced to the bottom right corner – forming a diagonal in which the observer’s eyes can travel down.

Inspiration: My dog showing some great Passion to finish off his bone. (and a cameo appearance by my leg)

Inspiration: View of the wheel thing in Liverpool by the docks from a £20 a night hotel.

Theme 1: Passion
http://i51.tinypic.com/jggxap.png

Name: Hardcore Wrestling
Inspiration: I thought that wrestlers were very aggressive and primal and, with a great dollop of homoeroticism (those pants are not a straight man's idea), the epitome of passion. There's a horse looking on because I thought it made it more natural and a little bit eccentric, as passion...always...is :conf2:

Theme 2: Buildings
http://i51.tinypic.com/f9obdd.png

Name: Derelict my balls. No just 'derelict' will do.
Inspiration: My grandfather used to own this garage and I think the abandoned nature of it is something that only buildings can put across - it was once used as a car park and garage, and now... well I don't even know who owns it. I thought its broken windows and graffiti made a nice touch.

Are Cuda's photos the wrong way around?

I was impressed by how passionate that chicken was to climb up the wall but got a feeling a car with a flower didn't represent a building...

Maia

Yes :p Thanks for pointing that out Jordan. All the photos are definitely in the right order now.

So do we vote 1 to 5 for passion and 1 to 5 for buildings or just 1 to 5 for the persons photo's (as in both)?

Maia
17-07-2011, 03:04 AM
1 to 6 for Passion and 1 to 6 for Buildings - two separate lists for each. Example:

Passion
1. Favourite
...
6. Least favourite

Buildings
1. Favourite
...
6. Least favourite

Thank you for your brilliant photos this week contestants, and thank you judges and members for voting.

Unfortunately as ever, we must lose a photographer, and the photographer leaving the competition with 10.2% of the vote this week is...

cuda123

Bad luck :( Congratulations to the remaining contestants. Get your cameras ready again for Round 3, the two themes for this week will be up in the main thread shortly.

Wrong choice.. It looks like he made the effort for the passion one whilst other people just took pictures that don't really relate to passion at all :bored:

No need for you to be pissed off. Just work on better photographs to knock the competition out.

Well done to those who got through to the next round.

I happen to agree to an extent. I didn't think Cuda's photos were the best (sorry Cuda) but when I voted - I had reason not to place him 6th in either category - based on the photos put up for considerationl.

I do still think that the photos should be offered up to voters/judges on an anonymous basis - without the member's name showing though. (for obvious reasons!!)

I agree actually, though I do try my best to judge them purely on the picture rather than who it's by
