Not news or anything, but someone might be interested.

I was bored and having a nose on google maps and decided to have a look at the old site in Bow, it's now being built on again, most likely something to do with the olympics. It's kind of sad to see, as before it was just overgrown land, but you could see the outline of where the house and garden had been, but now it's as though BB never happened there :( I'm sentimental I know!!

I'm not sure how to go about posting pics or links etc, but the coordinates are: 51.527573,-0.003079 paste that into google maps you'll get the pic. If you paste it into bing maps and zoom right in, you'll get an image of the site in it's overgrown state.

Funnily enough, that pic on google maps is obviously fairly recent, since it shows the site of the olympic village, but just a few miles away in borehamwood the pic of the current BB site is still the un-built on pre bb water tank. Why couldn't they have just updated it while they were doing the olympic site, then we might have had something to speculate about!!

I really liked the bridge going to the house. Thought that was a good touch.

It just looks like industry at the moment from my google maps view. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was included within the Olympics development :)

I liked the bridge too, it was a bit like a bridge to unreality and back again, even if there was a public footpath running round the house.

I think it was much better for the housemates to be brought 'back to reality' by Davina, no big entrance or exit, it must have been a strange feeling being being led over the bridge, a bit like a lost kid or a rabbit in the headlights. But the stairs seem to encourage the 'celebrity' aspect, go in a nobody and come out famous, with adoring fans below you screaming you name etc.

Get rid of the stairs I say!

Where is the site in Bow? :)

It's next to the 3 mills studio, there is a bridge over the Prescott Channel into Lee Valley Park and the house was built at the bottom of the site.

I still cant work it out on the newer picture though as its alot different from this one you just posted.

I wish they could have kept the house here :(

I wish it was still there too, no noise restrictions as it's not a residential area, the bridge is cool and there's room for improvement, rather than the confines of the elstree tank.

Seems sad that it's being built over now though, It should have been preserved forever as a site of historical importance, but unfortunately I don't think many people would see it that way!!

The problem is once Big Brother is officially axed, Elstree will just knock down the house and it would look as if it had never been there

Yeah like that :L It needs to be updated. Its a picture from like 2001 :L Unless they have some rule about NOT having it updated? :L

I wondered if there was a rule. On the maps, the area just below (round Hillside road/drive whatever) is much better quality which made me think maybe they weren't allowed to update over Elstree, but bing have slightly newer maps, from 2006 where you can see housemates in the garden, it's strange on bing, because the satellite view is another years garden (not sure which) but the birds eye view, which is taken using a helicopter, is definitely bb7 and if you toggle the direction the housemates are doing different things, in one direction it looks as though they might have been doing the majorettes task!! (I doubt it though!)

Edit: was it BB7 where they saw a helicopter flying around the house and they all went out to have a look?

I can remember finding the Big Brother house on Maps one time and it was from 2006, you could see the BB7 Garden with the Pool and the Rubber Red and White chairs and that.

Don't know where you lot are getting the picture of Elstree from.

The one I just posted is from google maps, you'd think they'd update it considering they've recently updated the olympics site thats not too far away. Boo google maps!!

Bing Maps has the aerial of the Big Brother 4 house, and a bird's eye view of the Big Brother 7 house (which you can view from four angles.)

Also, the bridge seems to have been taken down looking at the old Bow site on Google Maps, assuming it's fairly up to date. :(

Google Earth/maps used to have the bb7 house,I don't know why they stopped using it?
