Say what you want about the Harry Potter films not being as good as the books, but I grew up with the films as did alot of other people - as opposed to the books and I just watched the final movie today and still can't believe it's all over.
I was obsessed with Harry Potter - like really I was up until the 4th film because HP3 was so amazing, that The Goblet of Fire was just a let down and since then I haven't really cared about it that much or the films just seem to of gotten worse and worse, and then with Deathly Hallows Part 1; I mean that was a disgrace.
Deathly Hallows Part 1 was so calm and boring, there was nothing remotely interesting in it at all apart from Dobby's exit.
However, Deathly Hallows Part 2 is perhaps one of the greatest films I have ever seen of all time it's just utterly amazing and if you haven't seen it - GO!
Anyway for a few years I've always had my little rough idea of the order of my favourite films so far.
But now they're all over and we're not going to ever get another film anymore, and I'm glad because they went on a massive high.
So now I can come up with my official dead set Top 8 Harry Potter Films and I'd love to hear yours aswell to compare.
1. The Deathly Hallows | Part 2
2. The Prisoner of Azkaban
3. The Philosopher's Stone
4. The Order of The Phoenix
5. The Chamber of Secrets
6. The Half Blood Prince
7. The Goblet of Fire
8. The Deathly Hallows | Part 1
So what's your Top 8 Films?
If you haven't seen the final movie yet, post your Top 7 and then you can see how it changed once you see the epic finale.
Also at the cinema everyone seemed to cry at different parts of the film, I however remained stoned face - really concentrating on the story didn't shed a tear up until the very very end when this short piece of music played;

Because it was played in the very first film at the same moment.
Nostalgia is a horrible but amazing feeling.

I have been meaning to watch them for the last week but keep forgetting. I am setting it upon one of you to remind me tomorrow

What do you mean like watch for the first time or watch like a rewatch?
I have been having a marathon of them since Friday, it's alot better to rewatch them before seeing the final one - because of all the references to the earlier films and stuff.

I've seen the first 2 before, and I think a bit of the third (all I can remember is some fat guy kept turning into a rat or mouse or something).
Haven't seen the others

The last one was just perfect.
I had problems with every one of the others

I have to agree. I walked out the cinema last week actually fully satisfied with the film.
The others I had niggles about. And they were major niggles.
Although I think they might of perhaps needed a tad more information in DH:Part 2 I was happy with it.
Even the things that were in the book and were changed on film I was happy about.

That just made me extremely sad. Kind of made me realise it is actually over just this moment now. :bawling:

And the music is called, 'Leaving Hogwart's'

I don't think the last one was that good at all :/ I think the best film was either the Goblet of Fire (best book as well) or the Prisoner of Azkaban which is weird because that was my least favourite book.

Films: DH:P2>OOTP>GOF>DH:P1>PoA>HBP>PS>CoS
Books: OoTP>DH>GoF>PoA>HBP>CoS>PS
Films :
Deathly Hallows Pt. II [Wins by default. The whole second hour is amazing]
The Order Of The Phoenix [It's the funnest of the lot and felt like the first grown up one]
The Half Blood Prince
Deathly Hallows Pt. I
The Chamber Of Secrets
The Goblet Of Fire
The Prisoner Of Azkban
The Philosopher's Stone
Books :
The Order Of The Phoenix [I know people think it's clumsy and directionless but it's got so much going on and the world expands so much in it. First and only one I bought at midnight too. Finished it at 6 the next morning. No sleep coz' I'm hardcore.]
The Goblet Of Fire
The Deathly Hallows
The Chamber Of Secrets
The Half Blood Prince
The Prisoner Of Azkban [The critics seem to think this is the tightest. I find it over familiar and boring]
The Philosophers Stone [Again as with the film coming bottom I'm just too familiar with it. Every page/scene is another cliche introduction of a magical convention that I've read/watched dozens of times before].

Films: Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Prisoner of Azkaban, Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Goblet of Fire, Philosopher's Stone, Half-Blood Prince, Chamber of Secrets, Order of the Phoenix. Hard to rank seeing as I love them all but I feel like OOTP left too much out from the book
Books: Deathly Hallows, Half-Blood Prince, Goblet of Fire, Prisoner of Azkaban, Order of the Phoenix, Chamber of Secrets, Philosopher's Stone. Again hard to rank seeing as I've read them all so many times but Philosopher's Stone doesn't feel as great as the others even if it was the book that started them all.

I never understand why people rate PoA so much, the book's great yes but the film was pretty meh in my opinion. Daniel Radcliffe's 'acting' was hilarious.
It was a pretty film but one of the worst adaptations I thought.

Hmmm DH pt2 was my fave film.
And HBP was my fave book, so it annoyed me greatly when they murdered the film :bored:
Although do always love watching the first and second films though, cos I was still quite young when I watched them first and wasn't as harsh to the films as I am now. I was just glad to see HP on screen

I haven't read the books but the film was my favourite. Maybe it would be different if I had read the books

Just watched the last film. It was incredible. They got everything right, the emotion, the humour, everything. I thought it was the film that was most true to the book too.
As Patrick said, a lot of people were crying at different parts of the film.
The scene with Snape's memory had me choking, as did the final scene. I thought Harry's speech to ASP was executed perfectly.
I'd rank the books;
1. Half Blood Prine
2. Deathly Hallows
3. Order of the Phoenix
4. Prisoner of Azkaban
5. Goblet of Fire
6. Chamber of Secrets
7. Philospher's Stone
And the films;
1. Deathly Hallows part 2
2. Prisoner of Azkaban
3. Order of the Phoenix
4. Deathly Hallows part 1
5. Chamber of Secrets
6. Philosopher's Stone
7. Goblet of Fire
8. Half Blood Prince
