On XTra factor they literally kept camera on Janet for ages while Olly and Caroline were talking. Something so intriguing about this girl with her innocence.

Firstly I like Janet. BUT......this was without doubt the week that serious doubts emerged about her chances of winning. It was an AWFUL performance. BEFORE THIS WEEK SHE HAD BEEN STEADY IF UNSPECTACULAR. But last night I thought she, Sophie and Frankie were the worst three. At least she KNEW she was very poor, its why she was upset. And the makeup didn't do her any favours either. Her only consolation is that both Misha AND Sophie did worse in the public vote. LETS HOPE this was a one-off...otherwise she won't make the end of November......

Sad that every week her likes to dislike ratio has been getting worse. Now at roughly 2 likes to 1 dislike. I think that simply because she is the favourite though and alot of people do not have much better to do than to hate on the fave and dislike them.

I actually don;t think Janet will go on to win it because of this, unless she pulls out an unbelievable performance or two in the next few weeks, but she will have a good career there after.

That said this week was indeed her worst so I suppose its ok, but in week 1 and 2 for instance it was like 12 likes to 1 dislike ratio or even better than that.

Bad week for her when she forgot thew words, but she did well to get back into tune with the song that early in the song... could have gone horribly wrong, but instead just went a little wrong in comparison. I actually liked most of the song though and think she did reasonably well other than her slip-up but indeed forgetting the words is a sin. I still think with her fanclub she will go past this stage, but she needs to pull out a big one next week before she starts losing more fans.

Hopefully they let her sing this on a liveshow one week if it goes with the theme

The Risk suffered even though they are good, because they are a bit same-old as before with acts like 1D and JLS (even though The Risk are much better than 1D IMO) and so they didnt get a big enough fanclub generated.

Nah she is still very sweet. I find it adorable how she was nearly crying yesterday, but she actually did well to hide it all and keep it until she got backstage probably. Showing she didnt want a sympathy vote or anything, and she is right when she says that she just wants it to be about the music.

I think she also got a bit peed off because they kept telling her to sing out of her comfort zone.

However you are right, she was better when she seemed vulnerable where as now she does have an edge to her most didnt think she would have.

She definitely needs something more up tempo or with a bit of drama to it, but suitable for her next week (not a Jackson 5 song). The whole arrangements given are a bit bland, but I am totally sure that isnt her fault. I really think Kelly and the X Factor production has ruined her (but also made her popular sure). Sure its easier to perform in your room on youtube, but her own youtube videos were fantastic and a mixture/variety of songs.

For me, as Louis Walsh says, she still is all about the voice and I think her week 6 performance was actually one of her best watching back, the main problem for her is that it was similar to other performances. Next week is most likely to be 2 songs surely? So hopefully her first one is something with an edge to it and if she wanted could still play safe with a ballad or something in the 2nd song.

By the way I always think she sounds good in them group performances and they are mostly up tempo songs, I think last week forgetting the words killed her as that aside the performance on the whole was reasonable. Forgetting words is always unforgivable though indeed.

I am still a fan anyway because I think Saturday was actually a very good performance for what was given to her. However yes she needs to show something different and give her audition type performance very soon.

A better performance, but has there been any real progression since 'that' audition? I think the production and Kelly probably choose the VT. Obviously that Misha 1 was set up and I genuinely think they want her in the final because of the M&S ad aswell. I think they alway saw Misha as their prime act in this years show, which is not the case at all as you can tell by the voting.

X Factor 2011 hopeful Janet Devlin has once again defended mentor Kelly Rowland after the US star flew off to France this week. The teenager had reportedly thrown a strop after Kelly fled the country to film a music video, but the Northern Irish singer insisted that Kelly had been a “great mentor”.


The Daily Star had claimed that Janet was feeling “alone” after Kelly ditched her acts to record a promo clip for her new single across the channel, but Janet denied the reports.

She said: “Kelly is a great mentor, she’s really, really supportive and we see a lot of her.”

Janet, who this week flew back to her home town of Omagh, added: “She’s constantly on the phone if we’ve got any problem. She makes sure we’re good.”

But Janet did admit she could be a handful to work with – but was getting better at working with the stylists and other production crew backstage.

“I won’t wear anything that I don’t think represents myself,” Janet said defiantly this week, “But I feel like I’ve got better [in putting my point across].”

This week they have been giving Janet much more friendly media and actually leaking out nice stories about her. Maybe the X-Factor team are ready to give her a big push after all. I have a feeling she will be put on last or near last this time around especially considering she has not been around there for a while and definitely after Misha.

So after an admittedly poor spell where they were trying to get her to be 'different' 3 of her best 4 performances apparently came in the last 2 weeks......which says a lot about the way she has been PUT ON A PEDESTAL AND KNOCKED DOWN OFF IT by the judges, who will say anything to make sure they get their act through. The way she appeared as the the FIRST GIRL on stage,week after flaming week, despite fan votes being far higher than the other girls (according to reports, and certainly higher than Misha) shows how biased they were against a girl who wouldn't submit to the x factor machine. Misha won't win , can't win....but still Barlow and Kelly had TO GET HER THROUGH AT ALL COSTS......pathetic.

Diana Vickers - constantly compared to the singing style of Janet Devlin also finished 5th in 2008. She's doing ok, and more importantly is independent from Syco and is not given songs to sing. She writes them.

Nobody expects Michael Buble to sing rock or Queen songs, yet his style has made him the sort of superstar that Cowell would love to get his hands on.

Janet will do well. Nobody will finance Alexandra's 2nd CD because they're not that interested in her. She's just a TV personality now. If Misha makes an album, it won't be as successful as Alexandra's because the show was at it's peak in 2008, and Misha hasn't got the personality to fall back on for TV work.

Olly isn't a great pop star, but the X Factor is producing some very good, young TV talent. Alesha Dixon another example. Olly is very good with Caroline on the Xtra Factor though.

I think Diana was more style over the music. JANET IS THE OTHER WAY AROUND, which is why I much prefer her. There are some similarities to their voice. I just couldn't imagine Diana now singing Chasing Cars or anything by the RHCP. IF ONLY janet had sung these type of songs in the midst of the show, when the judges started to turn against her and her 'form' started to stagnate..... still, she may well have a future, if her fanbase sticks with her....
