In 2001, ska-inflected alt-rock fixtures No Doubt released their last album to date, Rock Steady, which featured a significant dancehall and reggae influence. Now, they're in the studio working on their first record in a decade, and they've teamed up with another outfit influenced by Jamaican sounds: Diplo and Switch's Major Lazer.

The NJ Underground points to No Doubt's Twitter feed, which last night featured a few Tweets from guitarist Tom Dumont: "We're working on 3 different songs 2nite in 3 different rooms in the same studio complex, all at once...@majorlazer in one of those rooms. Cutting drums with Adrian [drummer Adrian Young] at the moment." The above picture was then Tweeted from the band's account a few hours later.

:amazed: -waits for Scott to explode-

Major Lazer's class.

I first found out about 'him' on GTA and then downloaded his album. It's actually really good.
