Isn't it kind of funny? They made this massive hooplah about the show ending, and reliving all the moments, and doing this massive send off with ex-housemates and an advert burying the chair at a funeral. Only to have Big Brother come back and none of it matter. It's kind of a funny slap in the face to Channel 4. They tried to kill the show off but it just won't die.

It would be even more amazing with BB outperforms whatever is showing on Channel 4 in ratings.

i think it set channel 5 up with a great comeback, reviving (or reincarnating) the show, they will be able to do more ads and promotion because of it instead of the yearly "its back" we had with c4

I remember thinking at the time that Channel 4 were really going for it when they went with the BB dead theme, so much so that I thought they were deliberately trying to make it difficult for another channel to take it on. It looked like C4 didn't want BB, but didn't want anyone else to have it either. Glad that it looks like C5 have turned it around

It was just stupid that they spent money on R Eye P billboards. They lost money on the show's value, surely?

It won't have higher ratings than C4 had. It will be more about mag headlines and activity on forums.

No they really were saying goodbye at first, that was the idea. Then Richard Desmond took an interest - as he did with X Factor, Coronation Street, Eastenders and Top of The Pops. He wanted to buy 'em all.

Anything c5 touches turns to ****. If they don't just buy a series from USA, then you can probably be assured of farce.

Indeed.

It would be hilarious if BB does get higher ratings than BB8+ did on C4.

With multi-channel TV now pretty much commonplace in most UK homes, C5 having a poor reputation, etc I'd call that a miracle which goes beyond the parting of the Red Sea.

 The negativity on here is horrible.

Negativity or just being realistic?

Let's hope so.
it can be a success on channel 5, it just needs to be produced well and be interesting to watch. They need to go back to basics with housemates, not pick people who are dying for fame. BB3 & BB5 worked so well as it was brilliant tv to watch, live streaming, and great viewing figures.

Yeah, I agree, no one with agents please. Also, a bit of thought and imagination from the producers will go a long way. It felt as if C4 weren't even trying anymore in the last years, especially BB10, that could have been great

I never thought of comparing it directly to whatever Channel 4 has on in the same slot. Regardless of how bad or good the show does it's very realistic that it will beat Channel 4's show in the same slot which would be hillarious.

Ch4 producers watched the ratings drastically drop as the years went on, thanks to my influence :lightning strike:
I was so repulsed with the editors hired by Ch 4. Then in the final season, the editing was amazing - they cut to the chase. Much improved!

Sick of Davina, sick of Dermot and LameLamb, sick of Bently... we need new life in order for this gameshow to carry on successfully.

Whatever happend to 'big brother'? In the beginning he was a man who asserted his dominance and spread fear in the house and diary room. Then all these 'laydeez' came into the DR and coddled them.

Oh, and lets not forget the so-called tasks!! Who dreams up these tasks AND gets a paycheck for 'creating' this tripe? Has anyone seen BB US? Those tasks are quite brutal. slop!

Anyone know if it'll be back on during the summer months next year? Big Brother in winter seems very weird.

The fact is, that BB has a hardcore set of followers, who will follow it no matter where it goes.
Channel 4 said goodbye to it but because they didn't want it any longer, they could have fought to keep it if they wished to, in the end the last 2 series were just as much spoiled by Channel 4 as it was by the then production team too.
