11th september 2001
19 al qaeda terrorists hijacked 4 planes full of passengers
2 flown into twin towers and another flown into the pentagon
WHY? why did they attack america? what is bin laden's beef?

israel and palestine is one reason given, america supports israel and close friends with them
military bases in saudi arabia and throughout the region is another reason given

after 9/11 america was still close friends with israel and set up even more bases throughout middle east
they went to war with afghanistan and iraq and now libya more recently and thousands of muslims have been killed as a result

so al qaeda should be fuming with anger and hatred after this
yet there has been no attacks on america by al qaeda since 9/11
WHY???

and i don't just mean another attack on the scale of 9/11, i mean no attack of any kind whatsoever

they tried, but were caught?

thats the only answer i can think of but it does not make sense

how could they pull off such a massive operation as 9/11 one moment and the next they cannot even blow up a car or hijack a bus, even something as small as one lone crazy al qaeda guy going into a pub and shooting a load of people

if you are member of al qaeda surely getting a weapon is as easy as buying a loaf of bread

all they need to do is go to a random town in america and go on a killing spree and because they are suicide attacker they have no fear of being caught do they

why are they not doing this? why are they doing nothing to attack america again?

As a frequent visitor to the USA, my own opinion is that the States have got their sh1t together when it comes to security. Airport security both in the USA and on boarding flights to the USA from other countries, is much more stringent than it used to be. I think American security is now like Israeli security - which is tight. Takes longer to board a flight, obviously... but I don't have a problem with that, it makes me feel safer.

America's security is not like Israel's security. We just had a guy, a foreigner, get on a plane with a fake passport!

al Qaeda's been ****ed ever since bin Laden's death, a prior to that, they were fighting in places like Afghanistan. They made their mission overseas, to kill Americans.

How come there haven't been any more terrorist attacks in the UK after 2005?

US security is much tighter than it used to be. I say that at someone who's travelled to the USA many times. I've also travelled to and from Israel quite a bit and I can say from my own experience that both country take security very seriously. When was the last time you flew El Al?

I'm not saying security is so good (in the USA or the UK) that they won't try again, I'm saying everyone is more vigilant now.

You are right, I agree with this post completely.

I think it's a combination of both tighter security in the American homeland (we've caught many people trying to do terrorist things) and also Al Queda fight against US troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, instead of coming to America.

Like Bush said, our wars in Afg. and Iraq are like a magnet to the terrorists, better to fight them over there then over here.

ALso i think Al Queada is mostly now hiding out in the rural areas of pakistan near the Afghan border, so it's easier for us to kill thenm with Drones, and not have to risk any American lives in the battle.

The civilian cost is unfortunate, but at least it's not an American civilian cost.

That being said, i do believe there will be another major islamist attack on US soil within our lifetime. Nothing as big as 9/11 though, i don't think. Probably more like the 7/7 london bombings.

yeah but over here the fear has risen about home grown attacks and they could easily attack this 9/11 anniversary as this is the biggest one yet as the Professional American Football Season starts pratically everywhere on this anniversary and alot of people go to those events. but now I'm worried that Christian Nutjobs could attack this place cause of it mainly liberal or that place because Muslims live in that area

something as small as one lone crazy al qaeda guy going into a pub and shooting a load of people

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Hood_shooting

13 US soldiers. Technically not 'Al Quaida' but basically the same radical pro-Al-Quaida Jihad networks.
Weirdly, sold as another 'lone mentally disturbed' shooting and just a coincidence he happened to be Muslim.
