Channel 5 today reveals its Big Brother logo, ahead of the show’s launch on the channel this August.

The series, filmed at the iconic Elstree Studios, will kick off with an all-star celebrity version, which will be directly followed by the ‘classic’ Big Brother, featuring members of the public. The logo will run across both series.

The new branding will first appear on air from 23rd July in ‘teases’ during commercial breaks on Channel 5. It was created by Channel 5’s in-house creative team and branding specialists Hello Charlie.

It will go on to form a key part of a major marketing campaign for the show, which will run on-air, across the Channel 5 portfolio of channels, in print and online. More details about the Big Brother marketing campaign will be revealed in due course.

Jeff Ford, Channel 5, Director of Programmes said: “The new branding really jumps off the page for us and something that I think symbolises Channel 5’s values: straight-talking, direct and not afraid to be different. I am really proud of the work the creative team have done to develop the branding for the show, which will set the tone for the whole series.”

Gavin Henderson, Creative Director for Big Brother at Endemol adds: “The Eye logo is part of Big Brother’s DNA. This new design moves the brand forward and perfectly captures our confidence in relaunching this iconic series on Channel 5.”

Big Brother on Channel 5 will be produced by Endemol UK ’s production arm Initial. Channel 5’s Head of Factual Entertainment, Steve Gowans, will oversee the new series for the channel.

I'm really hoping they pull off a good marketing campaign, this sounds promising anyway.

Its terrible and they have put no effort in. That would have taken maximum one day on a basic computer programme.

It does seem promising, at the end of the day though it's the series itself and the housemates who will make the programme, all else on the fringes are just extras not necessarily vital for the series in general.
