It looks good,i'm excited to see which one will be better out of RES6 and SHD.

They're probably going to be two different types of games, SH has the smaller budget though, RE has the massive budget :p

It looks like there is no "Sheva" style companion this time though, we could still get scenes where we're alone in the dark

CAPCOM CONFIRMS RESIDENT EVIL® 6
Latest Addition to the Iconic Series to Release on November 20

SAN MATEO, Calif. — Jan. 19, 2012 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, is very proud to announce that Resident Evil® 6 is in full development and scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 ® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on November 20, 2012 with a Windows PC version to follow. Blending action and survival horror, this latest instalment in the multi-million selling franchise is the most ambitious, immersive and feature rich title of the series to date and promises to be the dramatic horror experience of the year.

It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world’s population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left.

In a first for the franchise, Resident Evil 6 sees series favorites Leon and Chris come together to face this unprecedented threat. They will be joined by new characters, each with their own unique perspective and involvement, in this relentless dramatic horror experience enacted on a global scale.

“Resident Evil 6 represents a giant stride forward in the evolution of the series,” commented Katsuhiko Ichii, Head of R&D and Global Marketing. “The development team, led by Hiroyuki Kobayashi, is working tirelessly to deliver the most impressive Resident Evil® title ever both in terms of scope and production values. We are all genuinely excited by the title and cannot wait to share it with the world.”

Hiroyuki Kobayashi, Resident Evil 6 Executive Producer added: “From the outset the team’s intention was to create an experience that delivers a gripping storyline, tense single-player and co-op action all set against a constant theme of horror. We are calling this fusion dramatic horror and are confident it will resonate with both existing fans of the series as well as newcomers.”

I'm divided over this, I think it's an interesting direction to take but I hate that they've brought back Leon and Chris, I'm sick to the back teeth of Blonde Beiber and Roid Rage.

I like the idea of multiple different stories but I hope there's more focus on survival horror then action though since parts of the gameplay made me think it was like a cross between Dead Rising and Gears of War and I hate the sound of that. I'm glad we've finally got a new protagonist though.

Hopefully Ashley dies a painful death early on.

Scarlett.

It's suspected guy number 3 is Alex Wesker, mentioned in the Lost in Nightmares DLC for RE5

Leon's campaign looks best to me

I noticed Claire in the trailer as well I think so she could be another potential playable character.

Chris and Leon are the only confirmed ones as of right now.

Leon is in Tall Oaks, America
Chris is in China

Resident Evil 6's characters and setting have been detailed by Capcom.

Taking place in the year 2013, Chris Redfield's portion of the game will happen in the fictitious Chinese coastal town of Lanshiang.

The man currently known as "the mysterious third protagonist" has been outed as a mercenary currently engaged in "a bloody conflict" with B.O.Ws in Eastern Europe.

"One day, he's told that he is the man to save the world. Whilst he doesn't understand the implications of this, he does immediately think how much money he can make from it," reads a statement from Capcom.

Seen stalking "the mysterious third protagonist" in the trailer, the J'avo, named by the BSAA after the Serbian word for demon, exhibit human characteristics, can understand speech and work together as a group.

Injured J'avo also have the ability to regenerate, while major injuries see the enemy mutate into new forms, requiring players to adopt alternative strategies.

Zombies, meanwhile, also make their return, but now have the ability to run, jump and use weapons.

Series regulars Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield are joined by a supporting cast of characters including Helena Harper, Ingrid Hunnigan and President Adam Benford.

Announced last month, Resident Evil 6 will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 20, 2012. A PC release will follow, but has not yet been dated.

The game is Capcom's largest ever production with more than 600 staff involved in its development

My hype's gone down a lot, I was mostly interested because of the survival horror bits but if that's only a small part of Leon's campaign then I just don't care about this game. Wesker was already an overdone villain and now they've introduced his equally ridiculous son as well.

I'm so sick of everyone having superpowers. The sooner they reboot the series the better.

Samuel.

No one's doing tense horror Zombie games any more. It's all action focused. Gap in the market.

Horror games in general this generation have been lacking.

Scarlett.
11-04-2012, 12:13 AM
I don't think Jake is gonna be like Wesker, he doesnt seem to have superpowers either. Looking forward to Leon's story the most

Tom4784
11-04-2012, 12:27 AM
They showed him leaping around and taking on brute-like enemies with his hands if I remember right in the first trailer. It's safe to say he probably has superpowers.

It's such a disappointment, Resident Evil Revelations left me hopeful that they were going back to a more survival horror based setting but it looks like it's just a tiny part of the game. The rest of it's just going to be Chris punching boulders again.

Scarlett.

Each campaign is about the size of RE5's full game apparently

Personally I've accepted RE wont be like what it once was, so I might as well enjoy it for what it is

A Resident Evil 6 demo is now available to Xbox 360 users who purchased a copy of Dragon's Dogma.

The demo can be downloaded by signing into Xbox Live Arcade, inputting the code found on the back of the Dragon's Dogma manual and loading up the game.

The demo, which features three different missions, will remain an Xbox 360 exclusive until September, when it releases for the PS3.

Announced earlier this year, Resident Evil 6 will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A PC release will follow, but has not yet been dated.

The upcoming sequel is set ten years after the Raccoon City incident and takes place in the infected town of Tall Oaks, as well as China.

The game is Capcom's largest ever production, with more than 600 staff involved in its development.

Dragon's Dogma, meanwhile, launched in May. The game sees three adventurers explore a vast open world to hunt down and destroy huge enemies.

Following impressive global sales, Capcom announced plans to turn the game into a major franchise.

I've seen some videos of the demo, Leon's campaign is the only one I'm interested in, the other two campaign look more like Gears of War castoffs. I miss the days on Resident Evil when you fought monsters, not soldiers.

I'm starting to look forward to this now, I'm not expecting a horror game, but it should still be fun.

I'm annoyed at the reviews of this game, sure it's not perfect, but it's a lot better than RE5 (which reviewers loved)

Tom4784
05-10-2012, 07:43 PM
I'm liking it so far, I feel the controls are a bit iffy though, it doesn't feel as tight as they did in RE4, the amount of times I've tried to stomp on a zombie only to have Leon kick the air....It's annoying given that the grounded zombies will just lunge at you if you don't stamp on them immediately. I feel the aiming is a bit too finicky too, most of the time i just run up to the zombies and kick them to death.

I like that they've changed how herbs work though. The whole idea that the First Aid Sprays are the only way to recover a lot of health quickly definitely aids in making the game feel like a survival horror despite the amount of ammo they throw at you.

Tom4784

I'm really starting to enjoy this now, I've just completed Chapter 3 on Leon's campaign and I think I'm gonna try out Jake's for a bit now.

I've beat Leon's version of the game and im now on chapter 2 of Chris's version, I honestly don't get the hate for the Game, yes it's got it's problems but it seems like people are taking it out on this Game because Resi 5 was so ****.

I liked the snowmobile bits, but hated the stealth/snowstorm

Yeah I agree that parts of the level was frustrating, and the snowmobile bits had to be some of the best stuff about RE6, pure class so I can understand why you liked that part.

Im on the Ada Wong's campaign now anyway, it's rock hard but i've scraped through to chapter 3.:joker:

Tom4784
11-10-2012, 11:00 PM
I hated everything about Chapter 2, the snowstorm bit was horrible and I despised the snowmobile bit and I'm not even going to get started on the stealth. It's a good thing that the rest of Jake's campaign was so good.

I've finished it twice, once on veteran & once on professional.
Leon's Campaign > Ada's Campaign > Jake's Campaign >> Chris's Campaign

All amazing, Chris's campaign was pointless though, there was no need for it in the game?

Tom4784
24-10-2012, 12:17 AM
Chris' had the best overall story but the gameplay was a bit boring. Leon's last two chapters let his campaign down really.
