Old Big Brother Adverts beat the new Big Brother Advert.

Just watching this new advert made me realize how much I missed the old ones that revolved around the graphic design of the eye and they teased us abit before throwing the eye at us and stuff.

I mean, THIS is what you call a Big Brother Advert;

I remember the excitement and boner I got when this came on TV for the first time one night.

And does anyone think we will actually get a House Trailer?

We haven't had one since 2008 so I don't know, but if we get one it might just be like this new eye's pupil being replaced by pictures of the house or something.

I get shivers when I watch that trailer and it's from 2006 - I mean I didn't get that WOAH factor from Channel 5's advert at all?

It was designed by Hello Charley, as is the eye and every other graphic aspect this year but it sucks.

Hello Charley have always done an amazing job on the opening titles since BB6 onwards, ALWAYS - infact the only year they didn't was in 2010 with CBB7.

So I expect the opening titles for this series will be the best ever seeing as they designed the eye, probably to fit their own titles.

I prefer the new advert to the examples you've posted - at least there's slightly more to it than flashy graphics, as nice as they are.

They do from a fan point of view, but the ads aren't there for us they're for casual viewers and non-viewers and the old cryptic ads with odd mixes of the theme that sometimes sound nothing like it to ocassional viewers and over the top, camp 3d spinning, rotating eyes don't pull them in, hints at what to expect do.

I do agree though, the BB7, BB9 and BB5 ads were all done to perfection, I just hope Channel 5 will be able to keep to that standard.

The font is the C5 font (Which I have). It's likely staying (like the C4 one did). The original BB font wasn't that cool, it didn't make any difference then.

I think your just too sensitive to change (we all are, we've been analysing the show every summer since 2000). The C5 font while not a patch on the C4 font isn't that bad, it's part of the Helvetica set (which are generally considered to be some of the best) and once we're used to it, we'll be fine.

The only people who love BB9 and it's graphics are those who didn't watch the show before hand, while it was miles better than BB8 it was average compared to 5, 6, 7, even 10 (not including the first week and empty crowds).

You can't be saying BB10 was better surely? Whilst BB10 did have amazing housemates, BB9's production was heads on better than BB10's ever was.

BB9 had a new variety of tasks and a good handful of twists and there was a great vibe with that series, BB10's task seemed to be the same thing every week and it was as if the producers had literally fallen asleep.

The BB7 Advert is just amazing, the very start when you hear that noise before it kicks in, just gives me goosebumps and then it comes on and it's exciting.

The best kind of BB production is no BB production, in BB10 they let the housemates get on with like they used to rather than interfering with constant twists and a crap attempt at BBUS's HOH.

BB10's tasks were far better, BB9's were a massive improvement on BB7 and 8s which were random time fillers, but the whole 3 or 4 day task thing hadn't been perfected and they dragged, in BB10 they managed to pull that off better. The Alice in Wonderland and Halloween tasks from BB10 beat any BB9 task.

By mere virtue of not having Zezi on BBLB, BB10 was undeniably superior to BB9 :p.

The only criticisms I'd have of BB10 were the evictions (I didn't mind the panel but it didn't work and the wiring that meant the smaller crowd killed any atmosphere) and the inability to think of proper punishments for Siavash.

The amazing high framed titles and adverts gave the show a sense that a lot of effort had been put in and no matter the cheap, low class tone the housemates brought to the house. At least it retained some through the production. And I don't need to grow up as it is my opinion. Settling for that disgrace of an eye is just pathetic, its s**t and everyone can see that.

The numbers are VERY important this year, hence why I am SO pissed off that we might not have a live feed. They can worry about us next year, keeping the show on air is their priority for 2011.

I think that channel 5 are trying to market it at a different audience, the old ads made it seem as if we were expected to know what big brother is and how their graphics are done. They want a fresh audience this year I think.

I don't mind them changing up the graphics and doing different adverts to channel 4, that's what I would expect. They're doing their own thing with it now, I'm more annoyed about the things they're refusing to change, like the obsession with the c4 bunch of housemates.

But I hope for Marcus Bentley's sake that the channel 5 BB takes off well because without it he's probably out of a job at least on channel 4 he was given lots of other work. Or will he be a channel 5 continuity announcer aswell?

What? The series was amongst the best ever. It had it all. It was a huge resurrection in my eyes, it was only the final week that was a huge let down.

The following series was ridiculously dry and bland, though.

The Big Brother eye this year looks a bit weird.

I would go for a really fresh look with little colouring, something like the Big Brother 5 eye.
