I haven't heard anything from either Channel 5 or TV3... looks like us Irish will have to just watch online! :-(

I hope not because tbh I probably won't watch it online,I mean an hour on the laptop is different to an hour on tv.

There's been no adverts for it on TV3/3e yet anyway and there's been no news of it being broadcast in Ireland since the article a few weeks ago.

I don't think you can watch TVCatchUp from outside the UK without a VPN.

-Just hoping BBBOTS is on Channel 5 (rather than 5* or USA) as Irish can only Channel 5 (through Other Channels on Sky). Hoping live feed is online too so I can watch that.

It would be cool if Channel 5 let the Irish watch BB on Demand5 though.

Unfortunately my dad got rid of our sky and got UPC instead and there's no channel5 on UPC.We also aren't close enough to the border to get it via terrestrial overspill.

Nope,UPC uses fibre optic cables so it's channels can only be controlled by them.I miss sky!

Yeah, you can tune in Channel 5 but you can't record anything from it.

Hopefully TV3/3e will buy the rights to it.

I'm only 20 minutes from the border and we can't receive it over analogue.

It'll be on, they'd be stupid not to show it.

UPC is pretty wank alright.

I always thought I was fine because I have Channel 5 on the box but I'm worried now that I wont get to see any live feed because I can't get that other Channel 5 one.

Oh crap is there another C5 channel? I used only watch live feed at the weekend anyway and they usually showed that on Channel 4 so I hope they'll do that with C5 too

Hopefully the magic hidden channel will return. That one you could tune in on the sky box that would give you the feed 24/7.

The channel was just the signal from the red button feed

TV Now,an Irish TV magazine ( in shops today) has a Big Brother article on its main opening page. Its saying how much they looking forward to seeing the new look BB and how Brian Dowling will fare as presenter.

Surely if it wasnt going to be on TV3 or 3e, why would they print the article as a main headline as most of Ireland has no access to Channel 5??

Im hoping that its a sign that they know TV3 will be broadcasting Big Brother in Ireland.

Yeah but this means Irish viewers can access it, as we can't access any red button features for C5.

Up until a couple of weeks ago, I didn't have Channel 5 and didn't know I could get it with my Sky Box. Some kind soul explained it to me, thus:

You go to System setup, then to add channels, enter these details 10.773 22.0 5/6 When the channels appear, you must then use the yellow button to tick them, click the centre button in between the arrow to store. Then to view at any time, press services and other channels. It will be there if you have stored it right.
This will NOT work with UPC.

The only additional thing I had to do was after changing the first figure to 10.773, there was a 'V' and I had to change that to 'H' just by moving across the arrows.

I'm a complete eejit when it comes to this kind of thing so I thought I'd throw this up in case there was anyone out there who was afraid to ask. :xyxwave:

Isn't Ireland like Canada, and usually get's all the UK TV like Canada get's all US tv?
It would be cool though if Ireland and Canada had their own versions of BB. (well canada sorta does but it's only in french) We need more english language BB's.

We have our own version of bbc1,bbc2,itv (utv) and channel4 but we don't get channel5.Most of the good stuff on channel5 gets aired on the Irish analogue channels. If you have a satellite dish it will pick up channel5's signal; But sadly I have fibre optic tv so I get my channels from underground pipes.I GET LIKE 100 crap channels that I would trade for 5.
To answer your second question most British reality shows air in Ireland and they usually allow us to vote and audition for them.I think we still have to get a series of bbuk that hasn't had an Irish person. The X FActor and I'm a celeb let us vote and in x factors case audition.

Oh no! That is very disappointing. What happened to the press reports from a few weeks back saying they were in negotiations to show BB in Ireland??

I thought, with Brian Dowling as presenter and possibly Jedward as housemates, that they would be a likely candidate to buy the rights...So we stuck watching it on Channel 5?? Bah.........Gonna be tiny ratings for BB over here now.......Its available to very few and most dont even know how to tune it onto the Sky box.
