which do you prefer?
For me it's dogs definitely. Unconditional love, devotion and loyalty. They will literally die for you. Plus they are useful in so many ways from protecting your home, catching criminals, helping blind people to just being great companions in a physical way that cats can't compare with; can you play with a cat in the park? No.
I understand cats can make good companions and do cute stuff at times, whatever, but really they have limited use compared to dogs. :)

I like both, although I cannot for the life of me watch a cat with a mouse or a bird, really upsets me that.
I had to naturally choose Dogs, because we have a Dog, a Staffie and he's the most loving, loyal and gentle Dog too.
Goes nuts when he sees me and near licks me to death. I love him to bits.

Dogs but I generally don't like animals at all.
Cats are the spawn of the devil though. Unless they are kittens in which case they are excused.

Dogs, even though I have a cat
Cats are a hell of a lot easier to train and look after though

What a load of bollocks
If you change the litter tray, you smell no cat piss.
And not all cats bring 'treats' back for you. Ours(when I lived at home) never once brought anything dead for us

Seriously, I have never been into a cat inhabited house that did not smell funny. They piss in places secretly.

Cats for the win. They are elegant, erudite creatures who you have to win over and are quite possibly much better judges of character than we. I couldn't care less if the miserable pricks don't express deliver bottles of warm brandy and cheese toasties to children trapped in ****ing avalanches.
Dogs just lumber about with their tongues trailing on the ground looking for the next fixture to chew on.

I like dogs but I wouldn't want one, too much effort, cats are easier and they are actually more interesting in a way

You're talking piss! I'm not a cat owner so haven't got used to any smell! I have plenty if cat owner friends whose houses do not smell in the slightest.
I do agree that is NEVER have an unneutered tom cat as they tend to spray their scent everywhere which really does smell awful!
Cats are boring.. don't know how people can actually own one and not get bored of them.. you can play football and run with dogs when your out running they'll just always run beside you but cats just sit around making that stupid noise that sounds like a crying baby

Dogs: lovely, sure, but also more of a burden to take on (walks, baths) and (in my experience) moult more, meaning it's impossible for your clothing to be hair-free :bored:
Cats: inconsistent and can be vicious, but are also cuddlier, smell better, and there's something more rewarding about something that's usually angry deciding to love you for a moment rather than a dopey dribbly thing doing it unconditionally. Plus they kill house pests, they purr, they can be just as playful (you don't see dogs chasing your brother's laser-pen around the room) and let's be honest, they're classier than dogs. And easily fiercer.

Dogs for sure. Never been a fan of cats, I don't hate them but a lot of them seem evil and I don't like how they stare at you.

I dont mind cats but dogs are way better!
Sure I admit that dogs require slot more effort, you have to walk, groom and play but all this stuff is kind of fun.btw that person who say dogs smell is thick i'll have my westie a year next week and he never smells but I don't really think cats smell but when they piss it's gank. For the 6 weeks when we were training my dog his piss was never half as strong as cat piss, makes me puke thinking

it was me who said dogs stink... and I'm not thick thank you.
Dog owners don't seem to be able to smell the doggy smell that comes from all dogs regardless of how often they are bathed/groomed.

I have all of the above pets and the cleanest animal is the polecats, they are like cats pee and poo in same place, they train themselves, Im not suprise it is the same place they do do stink:joker: The dog smell quote, it is all according who the owner is if they are dried when wet with towel they dont smell if they are left to dry they stink, truth . Also freebeeze is **** hot stuff that can get rid of nasty ordours. I think pets is individual choice and what people are like as people distinguish what animals they keep. I think cat lovers are more lenient they let cats walk on table tops and work surfaces would dogs lovers do that not a frigging cat in hell's chance and Mid feel free to unleash your worst.:nono::joker:

When anyone comes to our home that haven't been before, they never smell anything, they are generally very surprised to learn that we even have a Dog when he charges in the house from the garden
I certainly cannot smell dogs when I go to other peoples houses either unless they haven't house trained or cared for them properly. I do however know as soon as a cat has even been in our garden. (If our Staffie sees a cat,he runs back into the house).
I think likely all pets have some smell but it is not always a bad smell.likely some humans smell worse than pets.
I like animals though, A friend who has 3 cats that I rarely see at present until I get home, they follow her all over the house, when I go, they come and lie across my lap.My firend says I am very honoured when they do that as they don't give affection easily.
As I say it's just the way they kill that I don't like, they get so much love and attention themselves but are really cruel and inflict awful torture on the weaker things they catch and eventually kill,oh and eat some or all sometimes too.
Cats being allowed on worktops is the most god awful thing! I knew a girl who used to FEED her cat on the worktop! :yuk:

Yes but do cat people wash they're hand after feeding cats, if they allow them on worksurfaces cant see that.:conf: I have my dogs but they arent allowed in when cooking or when eating it is cruel and they usually want your leftovers, I feed my dog outside the same time I have food, a pet is like another child, a lot of love and attention, a saying a dog will lay down beside its owner if he/she dies, a cat will eat you.

I agree 100% with the OP.. Cat's are nice if you want a pet that you don't have to worry about as you can basically just leave them and they'll get on with their lives. But dogs are so much more fun and so much more loyal. You can't take your cat out for a walk (unless you'z a crazy biatch) and you can't interact with it in the same way you can with a dog. I'd love to do a bit of volunteering in a kennel or RSPCA, working with the dogs and just generally taking care of them.
