Amy Childs leaves TOWIE after bosses veto her plan to appear on Celebrity Big Brother

The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs - arguably the most popular character on the reality show - has apparently quit after bosses nixed her plan to appear on the relaunch of Celebrity Big Brother.
Amy, 21, has made no bones of her career ambitions and was offered a rumoured £200,000 to appear on the new Channel Five version of the reality show.
But ITV2 chiefs put their foot down as they don't want TOWIE stars appearing on other reality shows.

Brian Belo created the concept of having a hills like show based in Essex is what i said.

He spent 2 years pitching it and it was originally like a documentary (Totally Essex) which then developed into the show it is now.

My point is Brian pitched that idea to ITV2 and now its one of their biggest shows and winning baftas and all sorts of awards.

Now ITV are looking down and cussin' down BB when they got the idea for the show from a former BB winner.

The Only Way Is Essex is not a British version of The Hills though. It's a show that is inspired by The Hills with regards to its similar concept/format, but that's about as far as it goes.

It's not exactly BBUK/BBUSA, it's a show of it's own, not a UK adaptation and the idea for an Essex show was indeed devised by Brian Bello!

What I really want to know is if that level of thick is faked for effect, or if it's real. If it's real, it doesn't exist anywhere I've ever lived. They say there are no heroes or roll models anymore. Then I watch ten minutes of The Only Way Is Essex, and I know that to be true. Honestly... these people are TERRIBLE! I have friends in Essex who are mortified by this programme. If we're going to have celebrities in BB, at least let them have some modicum of talent and/or be able to string a sentence together.
