'Big Fat Gypsy Weddings' star for Celebrity Big Brother

Big Fat Gypsy Weddings star Paddy Doherty is reportedly being lined up to appear in Celebrity Big Brother.

The 52-year-old, who hit the headlines when he appeared in the hit Channel 4 series, has signed a deal to take part in the reality show, according to The Sun.

Channel 5 bosses hope that Doherty's involvement will help the returning series attract some of the millions who tuned in for My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings earlier this year.

"Paddy will have to get used to a house on Big Brother," an insider told the paper. "But he is up for the challenge of doing the reality show and can't wait to get involved."

Amy Childs, Kerry Katona and Sarah Ferguson are among those who have been linked to Celebrity Big Brother, while claims Charlie Sheen would appear have been denied by his representatives.

A show spokesperson added: "Executives are currently in talks with a number of celebrities, but we're not confirming any names at the moment."

Celebrity Big Brother, hosted by Brian Dowling, kicks off on Channel 5 later this month.

Taking all things into consideration: BB was never classy to start with. I get where you are coming from though.

Fist fighting gypos who lie, cheat and scam their way through life (and I dont mean those who are from genuine Romany Gypsies, before anyone gets on their high horse) - scum like this should not be what CBB is all about.

If they are considering him - it shows how downhill the show has become - and how unlikely it is that there will be any amount of half decent 'celebs' rather than one hit wonders, entering the house.
