Bruce Lee. Top lad. Anyway ...

I was thinking of taking one up and was wondering does anyone/has anyone ever done one. Curious and all that.

I need something to fill my free time and make me less lazy as part of my new 'healthy bollocks' regimen.

I'm liking Aikido at the moment. It's a pretty peaceful one all about taking the force of the attacker and directing it back at him and wearing long skirts and stuff. And Steven Segal is a master practitioner at it.

I don't want to actually go out and kick peoples faces off their face so it seems to suit me more than the more combative stuff like Tae Kwon Do and Krav Maga etc.

Basically I just want to flop about in a pyjamas like I'm in Tekken. And who doesn't.

I used to do tai kwon do when I was quite young. But I got thrown out of the class for continually laughing at the instructer and calling him sweaty betty :bored:

I've been wanting to try Krav Maga since I first saw The Bourne Identity.

I didn't have the time for ages and there's no point joining a club now because I'm moving to uni in about a month. I might take it up there if I can find somewhere that teaches it.

It'd be the second one I do. I definately wouldn't go straight into it as a first martial art with my current physical non condition.

It's some scary ass stuff. Super effective in real life.

Yeah, I'd want to do a taster class or something first, just to see how physically demanding it is. I wouldn't say I'm unfit but I've been in better shape.

I'd hope I wouldn't have to use it in real life but it would be cool as ****** just to turn around and pull some military **** on them.

I did karate from 9 - 13 and got up to brown and white belt (1 away from black, needed 2 black tags first).

Lost interest though.. mainly cause our sensei became a twat.

My son is a green tip in tae Kwan Do, he loves it and he's really good at it, it's not overly contacty yet but it's great for flexibility. My step son just started Judo, I think that's alot more contacty (yes, I realise contacty is not a word)

Yeah Judo is more contacty so good] but it's concerned more with throws than strike. Think it even translates to 'the gentle way - within reason'.

You can't even grab your opponent in Tae Kwon Do. It's illegal. Seems to be a popular one in the city though. I went up as far as yellow tip [i.e. white belt with a bit of yellow electrical tape on it] years and years and years ago.

Quit because the classes were in the North Mon and it was teeming with scummers.

I used to do Karate when I was younger.

Stopped when I finished my white belt.

Probably would've gotten to black belt if I'd have been arsed to go all the way.

Yeah, my daughter does judo. I was advised it was a better choice than the likes of karate as you are taught to defend more than attack whereas karate is more attack.

Stu the real trick is persistence with any of the ma's

Its the one that you will stick with that will be the best and that may mean the nearest, handiest, best time and cheapest

I heard relaxing oriental music in my head as I read that out.

You're right though. Like Aikido is fairly useless at the start - that's why it's a good starter one - but then you look at Segal who is a master in it and your like fuuuuuck.

Bruce Lee - Top Lad but big Error going to bettys Apartment

Nervous due to his new Warner Film Deal
Bonked (fecking her) Betty Ting Pei in her Flat
and got a pain in his head
so she gave him a super power pill that gave him water on the Brain
The Sad End to Bruce Lee. 20 July 1973

And calling the Film Producer Chow over was another error
he Slapped Bruce around the head
hoping he would come out of it.

At that Time although the Warner film was done
his own film Game of Death had just started shooting.

I've already gotten bored of the idea. I'm far too impulsive.
