LOL - not sure who comes out worse of this, but the launch date was changed last minute due to C4 playing their ace card - though revealing their hand to early.

C4 has the rights to the Twilight films, and having held it back for quite some time they were going to use it to crush the CBB launch on C5, airing it on Wednesday 17th August at 8pm.

However they revealed their plan that bit too early and C5 moved the launch back 24 hours to Thursday.

Ha, nice move by Channel 5. I remember a time when Channel 4 used to be my favourite - even in Big Brother-less months - now I never watch it.

Strange story, interesting if true. But it is possible that it was always scheduled for an 18th Launch - this date had been banded around for as long (if not longer) than the 17th rumours.

Well done 5 but how do we know channel 4 actually did this??

I think its funny how C4 are losing all the viewers they had left. I will laugh if Five pisses all over C4 in these next few months. It would be the first time Five would be beating C4 for ages. I'm sure Five has never won more than three days in a row against C4, with or without BB.

The only thing that did beat C4 recently was FlashForward on Five around 1-2 years ago (at the beginning).

We don't really. I still think its strange that CH4 would sacrifice some potential viewers of their Twighlight films by putting up against BB launch. Even if they are convinced that it would win a ratings battle, are they really more concerned with beating CH5 for 2nd least viewed terrestrial channel than challenging for 3 most watched?
All seems a bit petty IYAM and I don't think a properly run business would act this way instead of adopting a more forward-thinking approach.
...If true of course. Which is why I would find this a very interesting story. Can OP provide a source pse?

C5 must have wanted us and the media to think it was 17th Aug start as even Brian had tweeted that date.It seems as tho C5 have played a true master stroke here and at C4 expense. It was always going to be 18th Aug imo

It's a mystery why anyone would want to watch, and yes, it is ****.

I read recently a comparison of Twilight and the Harry Potter films. The conclusion was the Harry Potter films address loss, trust and the battle of good over evil. The Twilight films address how important it is to have a boyfriend.

I agree, I haven't watched channel 4 much since big brother finished! I think they will top the ratings of amy program on Chanel 4 with big brother. I never used to watch 5 either much but have started to watch it now.

Good to see that C5 are on the ball and had a back-up plan up their sleeves.
