Big Brother 2011 is coming back in less than 2 weeks now and i know alot of us thought there would be billboards and ads in magazines ect....
Now we do have the adverts on Channel 5 but ive only seen that a few times as i hardly ever watch and the odd story in the Daily Star.
Do you think this is enough or are they seriously off the mark by not branching out with advertisment for their biggest show in history.

I would have like to have seen Channel5 go all-out with promotion, billboards etc.

They haven't done well at all.

They should have definetely went for billboards and full page newspaper and magazine advertisements like C4 did with The Big Send Off

There's still two weeks - perhaps the billboards will come in a weeks time? They advertised their US drama The Walking Dead on billboards so I would be a little confused if they don't end up advertising Big Brother on them too.

They're adverstising it well on C5 tbf, everytime I turn over onto that channel on an ad break the trailer is aired. Just a matter of how many people interested actually watch C5.....

If I wasn't watching Karate Kid last week I'd never have seen the advert on tv.. They need to try and get it on other channels.

They need to do what Cher Lloyd has done on YT and make the advert play before watching certain popular videos.

No, but the rumours have got many people interested in the show. The Jedward and Charlie Sheen ones have made most of my friends want to watch launch night now :amazed: :joker:
BB IS ALIVE

I would also be surprised if they did'nt do billboards, there is still some time. We may see them soon now that the launch date has been confirmed, or maybe they will do billboards for normal BB once the celeb one is in full swing.... But thier advertising on c5 has been pretty relentless, with the full advert airing pretty much after the end of each program, and the cut-down ones airing in between, so it's not all doom and gloom. :spin:

Considering he was just passing through, I dont think he had time to take pictures.

If he was passing through at all...
C5 has promised press ads but I don't think we'll see them until launch week

In a way yes and no, I'd love to see cross promotion on different channels. At the minute I just want the House pictures and that'll probably generate the most interest and promotion within the fan base. :)

We know the fan base will watch. We a decent promotional campaign to draw in fresh eyes.
They do seem to be getting free promotion on BBC Three because the last few days before family guy was on, they reported it in the 60 seconds showbiz news thing

Probably not but the lower key start to the series, with the fact a CBB is starting all off anyway, may mean much more publicity after the start and by the time the BB series begins the ratings will be on the rise rather than as they were or even falling.
It could be a very good result in the end,to be seen as growing in ratings as the series progresses.

you should watch it tonight and see, last night they said "channel 5 are still refusing to announce any names for the all new celebrity big brother series kicking off later this month"

Neighbours moving to Channel 5 was advertised during Corrie and Channel 4 and Channel 5 used to advertise eachother.

well if channel 5 will pay for advertising on neighbours, they HAVE to advertise big brother better surely???

They should have had billboards, ads in magazines as well as the advertisement in the Daily Star and adverts on Channel 5 like we've had. :bored:

Considering there's still a couple of weeks to go, and considering people get promotion fatigue if they start the campaign too early, I reckon they've hit it just about right so far. Their press office is doing a sterling job obviously, considering the amount of gossip and speculation there is in the news.

Agreed. If it increases it would be even better than launching with a decent figure, this is how BB1-BB5 progressed. And I noticed that BB10 did the same, and is the only series since BB5 that actually increased. The first 3 weeks averaged 2.2m (Week 2 and 3 were around 2m average), however mid series, it was hitting averages of 2.5m.

11 days. Billboards are bought in fortnightly slots so if they buy them now they will still be up advertising the launch after it's aired.
