+1ing a post

I remember this was bought up a while ago but I can't find the thread now and was wondering whether the idea was ever bought up in TiBB Towers and what was said about it.

Basically, it sort of works like the karma system, but instead of +1ing a member, you just +1 (or -1, if you wish) their post. It would be an easier way to show you agree, or disagree, with members and it would cut down on the spam-like '[2]' 'This' or ':joker:' posts (All of which I'm guilty of)

What do you think?

I thought there would only be a +1 feature anyway, mainly for kickass comments and you wont have 30 pages of people replying with ":laugh:" as Boothy mentioned :joker:

Probably why FB doesn't have Dislike and Google+ doesn't have -1 (as far as I know :suspect: ), to avoid the abuse of it

I think the novelty of +1ing all of your friends would wear off after about a week though, but I agree you'd see a lot of Ranch / MTM posts with 14 points for that week :laugh:

Haha. I was just reading this and remembered all the crap that went on when the forum had a karma system. I wonder how many threads were in fact made about karma points being wiped out in tactical swoops? It could be hilarious, but it was sometimes taken way too seriously, and the more somebody complained, the more their karma would go down.
