I'm very disappointed with the lack of promotion on Channel 5's behalf. Over half the population are probably still under the impression the Big Brother is dead and buried by channel 4. Its clear BB is Channel 5's flagship show, and instead of using all the budget up on huge names, they should spend some money on making people know that those huge names are in the house. It's a basic necessity that the show needs a tagline and campaign surrounding it - possibly billboards.

I personally think theyve done quite well. A bit more would be good though.

The only people who know about Big Brother are the few that watch Channel 5. It needs some external promotion.

I would say 80% of the population have no idea actually lol.

And not having a go mate but theres like 2 other threads about this.

Channel 5 have let me down with promo. No billboards especially.

Channel 5 are not doing bad in the ratings at the mo though its actually beating Channel 4 some nights.

For example 2.3 million tuned in for the boxing the other week and other shows get over a million. So if these viewers see it then they tell their friends ect word gets round

Heres last nights figures:

Overall, BBC One won primetime with 22% against BBC Two's 10.5%. ITV1 was pushed into third with just 10% (+1: 0.5%), followed by Channel 5 with 8.2% and Channel 4 with 5.8% (+1: 0.7%

They should do more. I'm not in London so I don't know how they've done. Bus and Tube posters, stuffs like that.

Dramatic :nono:

I'd say a lot of people know about BB now and if not they can't be fans. Even if some people don't find out its coming back right until the day of the launch they'd end up seeing it in the TV mag or sky planner. I really don't think using people not knowing its back as an excuse now.

Answering the OP I think they've done okay advertising, C4 only upped their game last year....
