Hard question to explain, but as in, do you know your own character? Because sometimes it can take a long time to really get to know yourself, if you know what I mean.

For me, I strangely feel like I do. It's odd because I'm only 18.

Sometimes I feel I do but other times I feel completely lost and like I have no purpose.

I actually spend alot of time thinking about myself (being self-reflective is one of my traits I've noticed :p) and I think I know who I am as a person really well.

I used to be like that. And not that this applied/applies to me, but what if that is just a character trait in you?

I mean character-wise. XD I was assuming you meant plans-wise.

I really dont there is so much I put to question at the moment and 1 day Im excitable and funny and an other day Im a miserable bastard, which I think is due to environmental and personal factors and my take on them (which changes lots on the same thing).

Basically I like myself 1 day and another day I hate myself and feel like I dont really have a purpose right now.

I hear its normal but most people I know seem pretty content.

Applies to both for me. It doesn't really hit you until you have to start doing stuff yourself what you're actually like as a person.

Yep I think I do, I know what thrills me and what I hate. I know my limitations, and what intrigues me.

I think writing helps.

Could be, I have an unsettled soul :joker:

I'm very capricious and change habits constantly. I'll get mania a few times a week where I makes all these life choices in a blaze of energy then twelve hours later it's all forgotten about.

That's me though. I change all the time. That doesn't mean I don't know myself. I'm not into this self indulgent ball crap about not knowing the real me coz' I'm so deep and edgy.

How can you not know yourself? Unless you have a medical cert to prove some neurological illness you do know yourself. Think your always changing and don't know your place in life? Yeah that's called being human and it's who you are. It doesn't mean you don't know yourself. That is yourself. At least for now.

I don't even know my name /sob

I'm kidding, but I don't know myself. I constantly wonder and look deep into myself (not literally) and try and figure myself out. I have made some progress but there's still a bit to go.

I used to know myself. I'd say at the age of 18/19 I knew who I was and in which direction I was going. But then come the mid twenties and actually meeting the 'real-life' it kind of shook my confidence in that belief and made me question my character a lot. But that confidence is coming back again.

Does that make sense?

Oh great. :( When reality hits me when it comes to responsibilities, I don't wanna have to go through getting to know myself again. :(

It's not all bad, it's just a brief stint. It's good though as it reminds you and resurfaces some of the qualities you had forgetten you had and how much you are actually capable of. :)

In the long run, it'll be good, I suppose, but atm because I feel I know myself, it means that's fake and that I don't really.

I fool myself that I know all my weaknesses, all my strengths and quirks... but sometimes things happen and the way I deal with it will either delight or shame me. I'm not sure anyone really knows themselves, what they're really capable of, unless they've had to deal with all extremes.

I think people dont know they're strengths or weakness until they tested. My weakness is nice handbags and I still cant help buying them on impulse. My strenghths are my ease with people around me I adapt to situations in a calm manner when everyone else panics, Im not bigheaded just been tested few times with a illness I have , glass half full rather than half empty. When you have stared at death twice in the face you tend to live everyday as your last (one day it will be). Exercise is a great stimulant to change mood swings.
