A teenage mother from Blackpool has been told she faces jail after she admitted assaulting her baby son.
The three-month-old suffered a fractured skull, bleeding to the brain and a broken collarbone in February.
Preston Crown Court heard he is now being cared for at a hospice and it is not known how long he will live.
Kayleigh Searle, 19, of Troutbeck Crescent, Mereside, admitted causing grievous bodily harm at Preston Crown Court and will be sentenced in October.
She was due to face trial on Monday for inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on the boy but the Crown Prosecution Service accepted her plea of guilty to the lesser charge.
The former charge was ordered to lie on file as she admitted causing grievous bodily harm but with no intent on or about 13 February.
She also pleaded guilty to child cruelty and intending to pervert the course of justice at an earlier hearing.
Her former partner, Reece Bourne, 19, of Harbour Lane, Warton, Preston, also admitted child cruelty.
It is understood he looked on as the baby was assaulted by his mother on a number of occasions but did not report it to the authorities.
He was remanded in custody and will also be sentenced in October.
Michael Maher, prosecuting, said the injuries suffered were "catastrophic" and the latest medical update was that the effects were "life limiting".
"There remains a significant question as to how long he will live," he said.
Jeez, what a pair of morons (see the pics) .....
As for the baby .....
