With Kanye West and Jay-Z's Watch the Throne in pop-up stores and a joint Drake and Lil Wayne album on the horizon, hip-hop collaborations are the latest buzz topic. A four-man collective that should be in the discussion is Slaughterhouse, consisting of Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and recent MTV "RapFix Live" guest Royce Da 5'9". Royce revealed on RapFix that the next Slaughterhouse album — their eponymous debut dropped in 2009 — may arrive by year's end.

"Very soon, very soon," Royce said when asked about the next Slaughterhouse project's status. "We're working on the project right now. We're actually going to Atlanta on Thursday [August 11]. All the guys, we're all getting together and going in with some heavy-hitting producers. Hopefully, we'll have a single out by the end of the year, if not the album."

At the top of the year, the supergroup of veteran MCs signed a recording deal with Eminem's Shady Records. Four distinct personalities and voices could mean inevitable dissension, but Nickel Nine insists that is far from the case. He detailed how one particular difference of opinion among the group was mediated.

"Never that," Royce said. "The last discussion we had where people didn't agree — it wasn't an argument, but it was just us talking — was where we were going to record at because the last two times was in Detroit. I never want to make them feel like they have to come to Detroit just because me and Marshall [Eminem] are there. So I'm always willing to compromise in that way. Crooked wanted to go and take advantage of having Marshall in our corner. Joey wanted a change of environment — he wants to go to Atlanta. Joell was just in the middle. That's what happens when you have four different people. We just got on the phone and it ended up being Atlanta. We take votes, we do everything fair."

Finally, Royce assured fans that new music is definitely on the way, saying, "It'll at least be a single, I guarantee you that," by December. "Because we got one right now that I think can go. I think it can be the first thing we can go out there with," he added.

Christian singer TobyMac tops this week's Billboard 200, but Slaughterhouse and their Shady Records debut makes its presence known.

Up first, Slaughterhouse's Welcome to: Our House bows at #2 with 52,000 to start. The LP follows their 2009, self-titled debut studio album, which opened at #25 with 18,000 start. For those who follow hip-hop, they've since signed to Shady Records... and have been working exclusively with Eminem on the newly released project.

Behind the supergroup, last week's #1, Trey Songz's Chapter V, falls to #3 with 41,000; while the Now 43 compilation slips to #4 with just under 41,000.

A few spots down the rankings, 2 Chainz's Based On a T.R.U. Story falls five to #7 with 29,000 this week, taking his total to 224,000; Rick Ross' God Forgives, I Don't sits at #14 with 21,000 sold; and DJ Khaled's Kiss The Ring closes out the top 20 at #17 with 15,000 sold.

New releases outside the top tier include singer Dwele, CES Cru, Madchild, and Beanie Sigel.

Dwele opens at #29 with Greater Than One, which sells 11,000. It's the Detroit singer's fifth commercial release.

Strange Music's CES Cru debuted at #134 with 13, selling 2,900 to start. The 8-track release boasts collaborations with Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko and Info Gates.

Even later, at #169, is Madchild's solo debut, Dope Sick, with 2,400 units sold. The Canadian rap vet is best known as a member of the group Swollen Members, but ventures out on his own for the first time. The LP features contributions from DJ Revolution, Phil Da Agony and Dilated Peoples. Bandmates Rob The Viking and Prevail also show up.

The last new release comes from Beanie Sigel. His new album, This Time, bows at #185 with 2,100 sold. It's Sigel's sixth studio set, and features State Property, Young Chris, Game, Akon, and Junior Reid as guests.

That wraps things up this week. To cop any of these new releases, head over to Amazon.com.

According to Billboard.com, overall album sales in this past chart week (ending Sept. 2) totaled 4.90 million units, down 3% compared with the sum last week (5.04 million) and down 26% compared with the comparable sales week of 2011 (6.65 million). Year-to-date album sales stand at 197.42 million, down 4% compared with the same total at this point last year (206.57 million).

Im happy for them, they deserve success the effort they put in is unreal, just need to not rely on MM so much.
