Mohamed Al-Fayed will reportedly enter the Celebrity Big Brother house today in order to confront Darryn Lyons over the death of his son Dodi and Princess Diana.

Al-Fayed accuses paparazzi photographers such as Lyons of invading the couple's privacy and playing a part in their fatal car crash in 1997.

The 82-year-old business tycoon told the Daily Star: "I'm going into the Big Brother house to serve up quite a few surprises."

Meanwhile, a source said: "This will be a real shocker, another Fright Night. Darryn may have many celebrity friends in the world but he also has a lot of enemies.

"Let's just say that Al-Fayed knows of him, what he has done and isn't his biggest admirer."

Al-Fayed's appearance will be shown tomorrow at 10pm on Channel 5, while tonight's highlights show airs at 9.15pm.

The Egyptian former Harrods boss and current owner of Fulham FC and the Ritz hotel in Paris is going into the compound with a special task up his sleeve.

Mr Al Fayed, 82, will enter in a “glitzy” outfit for a “short period”, according to insiders, and he will bring with him something that will “raise a smile”.

“I am going in to the Big Brother house to serve up quite a few surprises,” Mr Al Fayed exclusively told The Daily Express.

A show insider added: “This is a major coup for the show and people won’t be able to take their eyes off Mr Al Fayed once they see what he has got in store for the other housemates. To say he will raise a smile with the stars in the house and viewers alike is an understatement.

“The production team have given him some ideas about what they would like him to do in there, but he has his own input too and some great fun ideas too.”

Mr Al Fayed, who once counted Michael Jackson among his circle of friends, is certainly game for a laugh.

With the Big Brother house transformed into an ancient Egyptian-style palace, Al-Fayed entered just before 4pm to surprise the housemates, who hadn't been warned of his arrival.

Mohamed Al-Fayed has set the Celebrity Big Brother housemates an Egyptian-themed task during his brief visit to the compound.

The 82-year-old businessman was introduced to the group as Big Brother's 'Un-Pharaoh' and set the group two challenges that would eventually name one of them the heir to his throne.

For the first task, housemates were wrapped from head to toe in bandages to become Egyptian mummies, before being laid down flat on their backs in the garden and instructed to stand up.

As the first six on their feet, Paddy Doherty, Bobby Sabel, Lucien Laviscount, Darryn Lyons, Tara Reid and Sally Bercow were invited to play a game of 'Musical Sandstone' - eventually won by the American Pie actress.

Reid has since been dressed in lavish Egyptian attire, though it is currently unknown whether she will receive any perks or privileges as the new 'Un-Pharaoh'.

Although designed as a light-hearted distraction, the Egyptian task has caused tensions to rise amongst the housemates, with Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff blasting Jedward for pushing her over during the mummy challenge and Lyons accusing Sabel of throwing the game of 'Musical Sandstone' to Reid.

It was previously reported that Al-Fayed would use his visit to the house to confront 'Mr Paparazzi' Lyons over the death of his son Dodi and Princess Diana.

Houseguests i'm not thrilled about what's so difficult about no contact with the outside world. I can't see there being any big confrontation though i really can't! he's an odd choice but hey ho if we have to have these guests if he's entertaining he'll do :laugh:
