Kerry Katona has claimed that she was hacked by News of the World.
The Coming Clean star told her Celebrity Big Brother housemates that she was among the mass of celebrities whose phones were hacked by the axed Sunday tabloid, alleging that the paper listened in on various family members, her ex-husband Brian McFadden and even her former drug dealer.
"It made sense because they literally destroyed the little bit of my career I had going," she said. "The amount of stuff that they had [on me] was unbelievable.
"The News of the World made me more famous than Atomic Kitten. I was a bit of a ******-up anyway, I can hold my hands up for that, but I felt a bit violated."
Tabloid photographer Darryn Lyons, however, was more sceptical about how much damage journalists had done to her life.
"The fact of the matter is, [News of the World] also made you a tremendous amount of money," he said. "It made you more famous."
Katona disagreed with Lyons's statement, claiming that she lost a lot of jobs - including her lucrative deal with Iceland - due to scandalous newspaper exclusives.
The 30-year-old also addressed her infamous, rambling appearance on This Morning in 2008 and insisted that her slurred speech was a side-effect of her bi-polar medication.
"It was bloody good telly though," Lyons jested.
