Difference between Chat and Games and General Chat?

Chat and Games = post counts dont go up
General Chat = They do

I would say C&G is mostly fun banter, GC a bit more serious and Serious Debates even more serious than that.

I think General Chat is for topics that are serious but not serious enough for debates (so still having a clear purpose and question linked to it). Where as Chats & Games is more just getting to know others and posting silly things/games/chatting with others.

That is spot on and how I have always decided which threads go where when I'm moderating and moving stuff about. It's all based around the level of seriousness.
